Its probably loose either from the battery end or to the post itself... disconnect battery post locate starter ensure all connections are tight if not tighten if they are you may have corrosion or a cracked terminal head on the starter end of the wire

By still won't start you mean that when you turn the key to start nothing happens , starter doesn't spin or no clicking sounds etc... ? Do a voltage drop test on the starter electrical circuit . Test cables an connections . Also check the control side (starter relay ) ! Find a wiring diagram of the starter system at www.bbbind.com .

Is ita diesel? If so check starter for voltage with key in start mode. I'm assuming it is not turning over..just clicking. The starter is hot all the time, but there should a small wire that trips the starter. If that has power check the starter contacts.

1999 DODGE DIESEL WONT START ON FIRST TRY TURN KEY OFF AND TRY AGAIN AND IT FIRES RITE UP AND RUNS FINE DOESENT MATTER IF ITS HOT OR COLD

Check voltage at starter (small wire) then check starter contacts..remove starter and take it apart. If they look chewed up replaace them.

Had the same problem and found burned contacts in 97 Diesel.

Trouble starting after clutch/flywheel replacement

if starter does'nt turn over or only sometimes turns over the problem is the bolts that hold starter in there is something covering them (Sealant,Oil,Grease,Paint) the bottom of these bolts must be bare metal to provide A good ground for starter a quick ck of this to confim can be done with a jumper cable one end of cable on battery negative term and other to back cover of starter (scrape paint) do not let it hit starter power wire (red) turnn key if it works correctly you know you have a bad ground
bad engine grounds can also affect dash gauges from providing a believable reading and also electronic engine mgmt controlls

My 2006 dodge durango 2wd v8 would not start wouldn't even turn over has power battery good

CHECK TO SEE IF YOU HAVE POWER TO SMALL WIRE ON STARTER WHILE TRYING TO CRANK IT. IF YOU HAVE POWER, THAN SUSPECT STARTER. TRY TAPPING STARTER WITH HAMMER, THIS SOMETIMES WORKS.

Starter has lost power when we wiggle wires truck will start..once turned off won't start again untill we re-wiggle wires. seems like the black housing that the red wire goes into is loose.

You have a loose connection on the starter or a grounded wire that causes a short. When you wiggle the wires you break the contact causing the short so it starts. Replace them and the problem will go away.

Intermittent starting, 95 dodge 2500 diesel

check battery cables for tightness, and you may have a loose wire to the starter, worst case scenario u will need to rebuild the starter when it gets to the point were it just wont start

2006 dodge ram diesel won't turn over to start

Sir I can help you with this, I have all the service manuals on your truck and will provide anything you need, but this honestly sounds like a bad wire connection or ground on a primary battery cable. I would trace all my battery cables and clean every connection even the engine ground cable and the one at your starter. I will be glad to help you further, I can post step by step trouble shooting guides on your truck if you need them. Hope this helps.
