Why does it just beep when buttons are pushed to start?

Actually, what appears to have happened is that somehow the door locked while it was open. I've ordered the door latch mechanism and the repairman is coming as soon as the part arrives. Good thing too. The seal around the inside of the drum was torn in places and leaking water. We've ordered that too. Thanks for all your suggestions. By the way - there was no error code at all. Hopefully this will all help someone else.

Just to let you know the control board is a warranty part for 5 yrs. Look in the back of the FAV6800A/9800A Service Manual if you don’t have your original documentation for your FAV6800AWQ. You will find warranty info and the customer service phone number. Have your serial number and model number handy. That info is on the back right side of the console. Good luck
