Legs Locks Loose

Ross
-It is possible that you are overloading the tripod, thus causing this problem (check specs on tripod model)
HOWEVER IF YOU AREN'T....Giotto uses (2) different leg lock designs..., quick release (normally adjusted by a socket wrench) or rotary (screw locks)!
- If tripod uses screw locks, sometimes foreign material gets into the mechanism and either damages it or prohibits from tightening!!!!!
Note: rotary locks are easy to maintain & if you need parts..., they are user replaceable and usually inexpensive! (contact Giottos distributor in the country you live in)!!!
BUT FIRST!!!! (often problem is caused by dirty lock mechanism)
-carefully unscrew the leg lock (that is slipping) until it separates from the leg higher leg section & carefully pull out the lower tube (at the top of the lower tube will be 'shims' that are part of the lock mechanism).
-Look closely at existing 'shims' do they show signs of cracking, of a build up of dirt, etc. (if damaged they will need to be replaced)
-if shims are undamaged..., use rubbing alcohol & a clean cloth to clean shims and both the tube they sit on and the inside of the tube they slide into.
-once both sides of the tubes and both male & female threads of the locking mechanism are cleaned..., place a light coating of a light oil into the threads (sewing machine oil, bike chain oil, etc)...., do not get oil on the shims!!!!!
-replace locking shims back into position and carefully slide leg tube back into place..., then screw locking collar on (this should not take any force..., if while threading lock collar back on..., it seems tight..., back off collar and check positioning of shims). Repeat procedure!!!
TEST RESULTS!!!
Note: in most cases with rotary locks, problem is purely a maintenance issue, cleaning usually fixes the issue!!!

Help with my Royal p70 electric pencil sharpener and I can't seem to get anywhere... A lead is broken in the sharpening gears and I don't know how to take apart the sharpener to remove it.. Ca

Turn sharpener upside down. On the bottom, you will see 6 black dots. Four of them are Legs while the middle two are covers to two screws. Peel the stickey cover off the middle two, exposing two phillips head screws. Once the two very long screws are out, the entire unit will fall out of the casing. You may have to push in the small plastic locking devise at the bottom. Good Luck!

OK, why in the world would you set a password on the hard drive especially if you can't remember it? I'm not calling you a thief but 99% of the time when you encounter a computer with a hard drive lock on it and the person in possession of the computer don't know the password, the computer is stolen. I've had the police come to my shop many times to pick them up.

Don't have the directions to put evenflo exersaucer together, need help. Is there somewhere I can get the directions? reg. number 07T-0538604

Instructions
    • 1 Place the large, round base on the floor. The outwardly curving edge should be facing downward.
    • 2 Attach the three pedestals to the base. To do so, insert your finger into each pedestal and loop the spring within around the hook found on the base in the appropriate holes. Insert the three plastic tabs on each pedestal into the base, locking them into place.
    • 3 Press the wider end of a lower leg assembly onto each pedestal piece. By wiggling the lower leg assembly side to side, you will eventually snap the pieces into place.
    • 4 Hold the seat ring in your lap with the open edge facing upward. Press each of the six wheels into the wheel holders around the edge of the seat ring. Each wheel will snap into place when positioned correctly.
    • 5 Insert the cloth seat into the seat ring, aligning the diamond on the cloth seat with the triangle on the seat ring. Each plastic tab lining the edge of the cloth seat attaches to a peg on the seat ring. Snap these connections into place.
    • 6 Hold the Exersaucer tray on its side and press the seat ring into the center. Once the seat ring snaps into place, it should be able to spin in place.
    • 7 Attach the three spring caps to the Exersaucer tray. These spring caps cover the three large holes in your tray, and are attached by a firm clockwise twist.
    • 8 Attach the upper leg assemblies to the upper leg crowns. These crowns act as the "socket" and the upper leg assemblies act as the "ball." By pressing them together with a click, the upper leg assemblies can twist and rotate in place.
    • 9 Turn the tray upside down and press each upper leg crown base into the round holes in the tray with a firm twist. Each upper leg crown features a height adjustment hole, which will face outward when properly attached.
    • 10 Turn over the tray so that the upper leg assemblies are facing downward. Insert each upper leg assembly into a lower leg assembly, being sure to pull away the height adjustment tab to allow the assemblies to slide together.
    • 11 Press each toy into its respective port on the surface of the tray. The toys each have a distinct base, which clicks into the correspondingly shaped tray port

I have a Manfrotto 685B monopod that I have had for about a year. Recently I noticed that it has gotten very hard to extend or retract the leg sections of pod. I looks like there is a wax substance on top...

If it was second-hand or pre-owned, the previous owner may have applied some form of lubricant to it. From a look at the images on the Net, it appears that the upper sections are adjusted by twist grips. If this is so, just unscrew them and separate the leg sections carefully, after which they can be cleaned. There may be a bevelled collar within, to grip the section - be careful with it.
The bottom section seems to have a standard lever lock. There should be a couple of screws holding this to the middle section - loosen these, then slide the leg portion out and clean it as well. When re-assembling this part DO NOT over tighten the screws - just enough to prevent the locking collar from moving.

Reassembling telescopic sections for a 676B monopod

Each leg lock has a leg locking lever and a screw that hold the clamp assembly tight to the leg. Unlock the leg lock lever, loosen the screw above it that holds the clamp tight to the leg. The legs should fit into each other sice each leg is slightly larger or smaller then then next one. Slide the clamps in the approprite places and tighten the screw enough to hold the clamp assembly tight, but do not over tighten it. Over tightening will damage the 679 tubes.

I need assembly directions for evenflo exersaucer triple fun.

1. Remove toys and seat from the exersaucer.
2. Fold exersaucer, but do not let the tray lock to the base. With exersaucer flat on the floor, twist each leg assembly (B) fully clockwise until it stops. Fully depress one of the pedestal locking tabs (C) then push on the leg assembly (B); leg will partially fold. Repeat this for all four legs. After pressing the fourth pedestal locking tab (C), the Exersaucer will fold with the tray (D) rotating toward the base (E). Make sure all four tray locks. (F) are locked onto the base before trying to carry exersaucer.
3. Place your fingers beneath the legs (A) push upward to disconnect the leg assemblies from the pedestals (B). Repeat for all 4 leg assemblies.
4. After all four legs have been disconnected from the pedestals, remove tray assembly (C) from the base (D).
5. Turn tray (C) upside down and remove both end caps (E) from beneath.
6. Squeeze both locking tabs (F) on each side of the tray to disconnect and seperate the tray halves (C). 7. Connect tray halves (C) to form activity table.
7. Connect tray halves (C) to form activity table.
8. Rotate leg assemblies (A) fully clockwise until they lock into postition. Make sure all four legs lock (G) are locked properly into the uper leg pedestal (H). Also make sure all four leg locks (I) are sticking out past the edge of the tray.
9. Turn table over and install two end caps (E). Make sure both end caps lock into place. NOTE: one end cap installs from above and the other installs from below.
10. Install toys on activity table. If desired, adjust table to the appropriate height for your child. IMPORTANT: NEVER use stage 3 without end caps!
