The soap dispenser is jammed. We opened the top but the box is sealed and inserted underneath the metal front so it can't be opened. I can't see what the hangup is.

SOURCE: soap dispenser

A wax motor controls the opening of the lid. Also a seal that fits around the latch lever may be deteriorating and obstructing the function of the lever. Follow the link below for images and part numbers with cost.

SOURCE: soap dispenser doesn't open

My recommendation is to switch over to a tablet and merely put the tablet on the floor of the dishwasher bypassing the soap holder all together. It should work just fine that way. good luck.

SOURCE: Soap dispenser opens, but detergent doesn't

You may have a hot water problem. The water when hot will disolve
the soap or detergent. The dishwasher hasits own heater to heat
the water entering the dishwasher. Check the electrical connections
below the dishwasher to make sure your heater is working. It may be just
a loose connection.
If this is not the case, then a service repait man will need to be called,
to determine why it is not heating the water.

THe soap try on a LG loading washer will not open. How do i get it open?

The softener dispenser tray pops up and jambs against the top of the compartment. Hard to do, but easiest solution is to take a flexible very thin metal strip-(like a metal ruler) and insert it on top off tray and try to free dispenser. Lots of wiggling and stuff. Works if patient. Other solution is to take top off, then take top off dispenser compartment. Good luck

Replace bellow seal

Hello.

1 Unplug the power cord. Pull the Whirlpool Duet away from the wall. Remove the screws at the back of the machine using a Phillips screwdriver. Remove the top panel from the machine and set it aside.

2 Remove the soap dispenser from the front of the machine by pulling it out and depressing the button at the back to release it. Remove the soap dispenser bracket retaining screws, using a Phillips screwdriver. Pull the dispenser bracket out of the washer.

3 Remove the retaining screws from the control panel with a Phillips screwdriver. Release the locking clips and flip the control panel on top of the machine. There is no need to disconnect the wiring harness. Open the washing machine door and remove the retaining screws from the door latch, using a nut driver.

4 Remove the outer retaining spring from the bellow seal using a pair of needle-nose pliers to grasp the loop and pull it out. Peel the bellow away from the door opening, using your fingers. Push the bellow seal inside the machine after you release it from the door opening.

5 Lift the front of the washing machine and put a wooden block under it.

6 Pull the old bellow seal from the machine. Unplug the white and black hoses from the old bellow seal . Remove the spring clamp from the bellow and throw the old bellow seal away. Rub liquid laundry soap on the groove of the new bellow seal. Push the new bellow seal onto the washtub with the opening for the hoses at the top. Push firmly until it is on tight.

7 Install the spring clamp on the new bellow seal into the groove using a Phillips screwdriver. Plug the black and white hoses into the holes at the top of the bellow. Be careful not to damage the bellow seal. Place the front of the machine on the frame and install the top screws using a nut driver. Push the door latch through the hole and install the retaining screws.

8 Press the bellow seal into place around the door opening and install the spring clamp around the perimeter of the bellow. Lift the machine and place the wood block under it. Install the bottom screws with the nut driver. Remove the wooden block and place the machine back on the floor. Put the control panel in place and lock the retaining clips.

9 Install the soap dispenser bracket and the retaining screws using a Phillips screwdriver. Install the retaining screws on the control panel. Place the top cover on the machine and install the screws with the Phillips screwdriver. Plug in the power cord and push the machine against the wall. Install the soap dispenser drawer and push it all the way in so the tab locks into place.

Water comes out of the dey=tergent drawer

Issue, small sock ended up between seal and tub, stopping in front of the hose in front of the soap dispenser. Tools needed, 1/4 inch nutdriver, #20 torx tip and water pump pliers. Remove 3 1/4 in screws from back of top, lift and remove. remove the 2 torx screws, one from top and one from the front in the soap try area. Remove 4 screws screws holding the front frame, pry the entire electronics plastics from the top, one catch on right, one in middle. Remove the last torx from the from of the soap tray, remove the screws to get the metal bracket out of the way. Unclip the 3 hoses and get the soap tray box out of the way. The down hose is where my blockage was, squeeze it at the tub and it will collapse and pull out easy, remove blockage. The hose is not under pressure, just give it a wiggle after putting back in making sure it is round and it will not leak.
And average person with the needed tools should be able to do this.

The soap dispenser door will not open. How do I remove the top of the washer to access the soap dispenser? I know that the blue plastic piece for the fabric softener lifts up when I try to pull open the...

To remove top: Remove the bottom screw from the plastic clips on back of the washers top. next, stand in front of machine and, using the palms of your hands, sharply push the top back about 2 inches, allowin you to lift the top off.
Dispenser issue: you may have to drill a small hole in the plastic top of the dispenser to allow you to push the offending part down while pulling on the drawer. seal the hole with silicone or foil tape.

Hello there:
Here is a few tips that might help you out
Hope that they are very helpful for you
Best regards Mike
Washing machine is leaking Washing machine leaks are very common. There are many places a washing machine can leak from although most leaks come from the same few places. The most common cause for a leaking washing machine is the door seal. Door seals often get holes in them and water leaks down the inside of the washing machine which then runs out under the front. Water leaking down the front of the washing machine from the door can be caused by a worn door seal (the flange part that the door glass presses against when closed) or something trapped between the door seal and the door glass which breaks the seal. If the door seal doesn't look worn, or it's too young to be worn, then try cleaning the door seal's flange and the door glass on the inside of the door. Bits of cotton, un dissolved washing machine detergent etc can cause a leak.
Soap dispenser leaks
The next most common cause of a leaking washing machine is the soap dispenser. Leaking water from a soap dispenser is often caused by a blockage, or water pressure that is simply too high. Despite seeing many leaking soap dispensers, I've never seen a soap drawer with a seal, they just rely on water not getting to the front which is not really good enough. Some Hoover soap dispensers in particular, are renowned for leaking, and over the years Hoover have had to introduce modified soap dispensers twice.
Some washing machines, can flood water out of the soap dispenser when a hose gets blocked (usually with un dissolved soap powder) Indesit, and Candy, as well as some of the later Hoover washing machines suffered from this design flaw. The hose where the water is flushed down, was right at the front of the soap dispenser on these washing machines and the hose wasn't wide enough. Un dissolved powder from a tablet or lumps of detergent through poor hot water pressure can block this hose solid. (Note: water flooding out of the front of a washing machine's soap dispenser can also be an indication of overfilling or a partial pump blockage if it does it when spinning)
Finally, black gunge in the top of the soap dispenser can cause water to spray towards the front and leak. Take out the soap dispenser drawer and look at the roof of the soap dispenser. If it's covered in black gunge, blocking some of the water holes, it could be causing problems. In extreme cases I've had to replace the dispenser.
Tips for finding a leak on a washing machine
  • If you have a leaking washing machine, and you can't see where it's coming from, shove some newspaper underneath the washing machine. The slightest drop will give a clue where the water is leaking from. Pull the sheet out regularly to check for water leaks.
  • Water can run round things and drip onto other parts. Be careful with your diagnosis, as water dripping from a hose at the bottom could actually be leaking from somewhere else higher up.
  • Leaks usually leave marks, so it's possible to see something is leaking even without witnessing it. The soap suds that come out with the leaking water leave white trails. Rust is a good indicator of a water leak too. However, if you have had a previous leak cured, the "evidence" of a leak may still be present so be sure you don't blame a part that was repaired in the past.
  • If the washing machine leaks only at the end of the wash, when water is being pumped out. Make sure water isn't backing up and cascading over the top of a blocked drain pipe in the plumbing.
  • WARNING: Don't get electrocuted trying to witness a leak. It's dangerous running the washing machine with the top or back off.

My whirlpool dishwasher soap dispenser is apparently not opening during cleaning. I find dirty dishes and clumps of soap in the hopper. Whirlpool quiet partner II

I bet your clumps of soap began with the beginning of the use of a different DW detergent powder.

Try this (trust me) Go buy a box of brand name Dishwasher powder (e.g. Electrosol or Cascade) Use it for two loads of dishes and report your results back here. OK?

Soap dispenser drawer jammed

I would not say that is normal wear and tear, but the fabric softener or bleach dispenser may not have gotten replaced correctly after they were removed. You should rarely have to clean these out (as they are flushed with water on each cycle) Make sure they are installed correctly and you should not have repeat problems. Now, Here's a possible solution to the current jammed dispenser: Remove the two screws on the bottom side of the plastic clips on the back of the washer (leaving the clips attached to the washer's top), then use the palms of your hands to sharply push the top back about an inch and a half and lift the top off the machine. Now, if you can see enough through the translucent plastic to tell where the hang up is, you can drill a small hole in the top of it to allow you to push that part down so the drawer will open. Then, use foil duct tape to seal the hole.
