Why does screen always default to very bright white pictures?

  • Brenda Smith Sep 02, 2015

Just adding more comments. at times this camera takes beautiful pictures. When it does I don't mess with settings. however sometimes when it opens up it will only take very bright pictures. how can I make the setting stay as default settings. also which settings are best to prevent this?

I would go into the menu and see if there is a factory reset. it sounds like the white balance or iris is opening up when it shouldnt. If you reset the settings and it still acts up, check to make sure your hands are not blocking any sensors on the front to make the camera think its darker than it is.

Red shadow on my TH42PWD when showing white screens

You probably need to change the white balance, the control called Rgain or Red Gain but you have not given enough info to be sure.
How and from what source is it fed?
has it developed the fault or was it always like that?
How red is it and is it all over the screen?
do you mean the picture looks a bit "warm" or is it bright red?

When taking pictures outside the view screen after picture taken appears as a bright burst of white light. Inside picture appear fine. Any ideas?

let me see if i understand. if you llok at the screen it looks ok, but after you take the picture it will record only a white bright image.....

in some cases you can easily fix this by goining into your camera option and restoring default settings. it is the exposure setting .

if you camera still giving you just black white images the light sensor in the machine ahs gone bad, it needs to be replace.

LCD screen and small viewfinder screen go snowy than white. When I turn the camera on the LCD worked fine, when I than turn it, it was just white. Now it won't even turn on normal. I can still make...

Go to your menus, set all to factory settings or default.
Test the camera by using more of the settings, and notice how it works.
The LCD settings especially are what you want to make sure are set right...not too bright, and of course not too dim either.

When taking pic in sunlight - lcd screen is whited out!!

I think that's normal. I also have experienced the same always when the screen is exposed to sunlight. Try adjusting its brightness or use an anti-glare protection.

Mitsubishi WS-65807 + PS3 1080i Screen goes blank when bright white displayed

Go to PS3 / Display settings. Set superbright OFF, even if you don't have HDMI. Set Cross Color Reduction to OFF. Set Display to only one resolution, not all of them as you probably have it now. Set it ot the highest possible resolution and uncheck all other boxes. The 480i is always on by default. The issue, which was very annoying, was fixed for me. I have a mitsubishi 65 inch RP that is pretty bright on daytime/sunlight scenes, so I never thought it was the PS3, but only whet the PS3 was used did this occur. I scanned this site via google to find that nobody else appeared to have resolved this. So after some changes and testing this solution worked for me. Enjoy! - Dave Walz

P.S. I think the only real fix was to set just one display resolution, but I am now watching a movie and am not going to stop it to find out. :) That's for whomever follows this posting to find out for themselves. Either way, this is working great.

RCA 32V420T 32" TV

This RCA set uses the CTC187BD chassis. Look on the back of the set and to the right of the cable connector you will see 2 controls sticking out, one on top of the other. The top control is for focus and the bottom one is screen, or overall brightness. If these controls have been turned clockwise then you will have a bright, fuzzy picture with white lines (retrace lines) through it. Tune in a channel with white letters on the screen and turn the top (focus) control until the letters are crisp and sharp. Go into the menu and turn the contrast and brightness all the way down, and then turn the bottom control (screen) until you can just see the picture, just above the point where the picture is too dark to see. Go back into the menu and reset the contrast and brightness and the picture will be back to perfect.

Picture comes out to bright.

Do you mean no picture at all but a white screen or a feint picture?
