It's possible that there is gas leak causing part of the coil to freeze. The cost will depend where the leak is.

I have a ruud silhouette furnace. it's been here in the attic since the house was built in 2001. There is a metal pan around the base of the furnace and it keep filling with water.I see where the wate

The water is condensation from the evaporator coils and is normal. There should be a drain pipe or hose from the pan either to the outside of the home or into the wastewater drain. It is also normal for dirt to accumulate on the evaporator coils and some of it ends up in the pan and clogs the drain. Cleaning the coils and flushing out the drain is something that should be done at least yearly.

My ac unit is leaking through the coil box, I cleaned the drain, but it still leaks from the side of the box. Could it be cracked? the unit is 9 yrs old

Could be a cracked condensate pan. this may require replacing the pan or there are sealing sprays on the market which you can buy at HVAC stores.

Leaking inside. Fedders A3X05F2A-J Unit is sloped away from house. Have sprayed coils. Doesn't seem to be drain hole at back of unit

Mellisia, the problem very well may be, that the drain pan hole under the unit, on the outside may be clogged. When that happens, water backs up and leaks out the front of the unit. The drain hole should be near one of the corners of the drain pan. And with Fedders, it may be on the edge/lip of the drain pan. The clog, may appear to be part of the drain pan and that's why you haven't noticed it.

Inspect the drain pan closely. If you can't find it. You can create one, by CAREFULLY drilling a hole at one of the corners of the drain pan. It doesn't have to be a large hole 1/8" to 1/4" should do.Be sure the unit is OFF and unplugged from the wall, before attempting this. Also, once the drill bit penetrates the drain pan STOP. You don''t want the drill bit to pierce the coils on the back of the unit.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know. Thanks.

Air Conditioner (RUUD model: UBHC-14J06NFD) is leaking water from bottom. It is causing a major puddle in Air Intake area.

The condensate drain line/pan is clogged causing the condensation to overflow the pan.

The easy way to fix that is attatch a powerfull wet/dry shop vac to the end of the drain line and such out whatever is causiing the clog. Also take off the panel to the evaporator coil and clean out the pan with the shop vac.

To double check that the clog has been removed, pour a gallon or two of water into the pan and ensure that it is draining properly.
