Replaced inverter boards. No change in issue. Removed LCD panel to check tubes. All tubes light up but blink on and off. No issues with a single tube. Remove power each time before powering up and get the following results
1 Tubes will all blink 1-30 times and all tubes go out. Sometimes they might come back on after a while
2All tubes blink anywhere from 1-30 times. Frequency of blinking varies. Light is very bright. Then tubes all stay on but lighting appears duller than when it was blinking.
3 All tubes blink continuously. Frequency of blinking varies. Light is very bright. Continues for several minutes until to turn set off.
I am guessing something with power supply but when I checked lcd with flashlight when back light was off I could see images/lettering. Any ideas?

a 6 blink is the power supply board that connects to the inverter board. check your plug connections again, make sure the small plug on the side is seated all the way in. but more than likely when you changed the backlite board, if you didn't take the lcd panel apart you damaged the ccfl tubes, which was most likely the original problem. one of the tubes go bad (smaller around than a pencil) that run across the screen behind the diffuser the white panel behind the lcd substrate. check that out and let me know...... thanks, Terry.
This does not seem to be a power supply issue but rather an issue with the backlight inverter board. When the screen goes black, take a flash light and focus it on the screen from a close distance and several angles. See if you notice a very faint image. Try changing the channels to make it more noticeable. Try it and let me know
Funai used lousy wire going from the inverter board to the backlight
tubes. Look for any wires that are touching each other. The
insulation could have broke down between them and started arching. Get
some heatshrink tubing to recover the damaged wires.
Hi,
13 blinks is backlight error.. can be 1 of 2 things, 1st bad inverter board (on left side panel looking from back) it has several plug ins to the panel as it supplies voltage to the backlights.2nd could be panel itself as backlights are built into it they can't be replaced. Inverter is probably around $200 +labor, panel= buy new tv... they are outrageously expensive. Good luck!
A 4 flash shutdown indicates a backlight problem. It can be acused by a bad backlight inverter board (the backlight power supply) or by a defective backlight in the panel. There are fuses on the backlight inverter board called "picofuses" which will need to be checked in order to isolate the problem to the board or the panel. If the fuses are good, you have to replace the panel (very expensive!). If the fuses are opne, most likely the back light inverter board has failed.
