Haier a/c model esa408k-l mode is set on cool, speed set on high temp is 81 held temp button down, goes to 61 with in seconds goes back to 81.

there is a temperature sensor bulb in front of the evaporator. check if it is too near to the coil. move iit away about an inch.

compressor shuts down air is cool but unit does not stay long enough to cool lower the thermostat down little lower if the compressor starts up then bad thermostat

You can try unpluging it to reset it .. this is a tough one as i not to certain.. But try that wait for about a munite nbefore you plug it back in.

You must call to the company supplier for to claim this problem.
Normally the control thermostat can be defective. Contact customer support they have 24 hours online service.
