SOURCE: hdmi 2 wont work on mitsubishi wd-y65

It sounds similiar to a problem we've had with ours, all components would work in hdmi 1, but hdmi 2 would only work intermitently. They ended up replacing the digital board (fortunately we have the extended warrenty, I'm sure it's not cheap). Sorry hope this helps.

SOURCE: Toshiba Dvd won't work properly with my new TV

if your old tv was an analog one you need a digital converter box to change to the new signal.. new tvs wont recognize the analog signal..temporarily you may be able to use your laptops' dics player as a player for your discs..

That TV is suppose to have automatic input detection but if it doesn't work you can press the input button on the remote and then use the arrows and enter to select the input you are trying to use.

you may need to change the HDMI board in the tv. it will be the hole board the parts are just to small to replace them all to get the HDMI board working again. find a second hand replacement. should be fine with another known working one.

How do I view movies in 3D on the Mitsubishi WD-Y65?

WD-Y65 is NOT a 3D ready TV. You either have to change the TV to see the movie in 3D, or just watch it in 2D in you current TV.

I have the same TV as yours. Current I connect a desktop PC to the TV via DVI port, and I watch Avatar using colorcode 3D(Amber/Blue) with Stereoscopic Player from www.3dtv.at It might be a way for you to enjoy 3D without change the whole thing, but it's an entire different topic.

The tv reflects that it is showing in 480i whent he cable is at 1080i. i am using a hdmi cable, i know the tv is plug and play, but if that is not working can i manually switcht the tv to 1080.

There are several solution you can try. Go to your menu and manually set the TV to your own personal setting is the easiest step. The other is to change the source that generate the 1080 res. The HDTV is only capable of producing the signal it receives, not the other way around. If you have a reliable and true 1080 source, then your tuner is having some other issue or the HDMI port is bad. Try using the 5 component YCB plus sound to duplicate the problem. The Component port is capable of producing up to 1080i source. Let me know how this turn out.
