Press TOOLS (the spanner symbol) Press Settings Press Language (Lips Symbol) You'll see 3 items. One for Voice Language, one for Text Language and one for keyboard. If you need to change the voice to english Press Voice Language and select english. If you need to change the text to english press Text Language and select english

To change the language settings:
Touch the Wrench icon which is located on the screen with the Magnifying Glass and Map icon
Touch the Wrench icon
Touch the down arrow1
Touch the Lips/Mouth icon
Touch the top right blue box
Touch the up arrow until you see American English2
Touch American English
Touch OK
The device should be in selected text language.
Note 1 - this will only be on the 2x5 and the 5xx
Note 2 - If American English is not the language needed, please selected the desired language.
If you want Italian, then the unit will show Italian. If you want it to show English, then you set it up for English. You can't have Italian verbal directions on an English unit.
To change the unit back to English: Press Wrench. Press the button with the picture of gears on it. Press Down arrow. Choose second menu item from the top. Press the middle of the 3 boxes on the right. Press up arrow to find American or British English.
