The scanner is assuming there is no paper. Just under the rubber rollers, in the paper tray there is a paper sensor. Clean that area with a damp cloth. Keep some papers and try "count-only". It it works then sensor is okay, else, you need to check the sensor.

The DR-9080c scanner will take a whole stack of papers (20 or so) and shove it thru the paper path, not just the top sheet. On old laser printers there was a paper pick that got slippery. Is there one in...

Ensure that the "BYPASS" button on the control panel is not illuminated. Make sure the "Standard Feeding " is selected in the driver. Try cleaning the lower separation roller. Make sure the separation roller is pressing up against the feed rollers. If the roller set is worn, order a replacement set of rollers (Google: Canon 9080 Exchange roller kit)

Paper tray at front of scanner will not lift. Scanner has been reset multiple times and computer rebooted as well. Error msg= unknown error canon DR-6080/7880/9080C driver versioin 1.3.10502.17001 (-4523)

Disconnect the scanner from the Comp, Try 'page counting'. If the papers go through, then you know feed mechanism is okay. if the tray is not lifting, then you have a problem. Use Qumatool software and check if the tray is lifting. If the scanner tray if lifting then the motor is okay, if not, the lifting motor may need a check. If the motor is okay, but tray not lifting means the sensor in the paper tray is faulty. Check this out.

CapturePerfect ver 3 is on chargeable basis! You can download ver 2.0 from http://software.canon-europe.com/software/0022439.asp?model= Though this is listed under Canon DR 5020, it works fine with DR 9080C. DR 9080C has very intelligent features and ver 2 works fine. I do not know if there are addl features with ver 3.0. I have used for scanning over 500,000 docs.

Canon DR-9080c scanner not lifting error no page found in feeder

There is a paper sensor just under the rolers in the lifting tray. Clean the area thoroughly with a damp cloth. Keep some sheets and try ]count only'. If it works then the sensor is okay, then you can try your scanning. If it is not sensing paper, check the sensor or connections to the sensor.
