Ps12 sub woofer. How do I replace the fuse?

There is a photo of the amp board here:
http://badcaps.net/forum/album.php?albumid=40&pictureid=102
You need to remove the plate amp from the speaker (be sure it's unplugged!) and you'll see the fuse. Replace with exactly the same thing--don't go up in amperage. BUT... if it blew a fuse something is wrong. Those amps do have a tendency to over-heat but if the new fuse blows you should have the amp serviced. Or junk it.

I have a JBL TLX PS10 sub woofer, and it keeps blowing fuses almost immediately. What do you think the most likely problem is? also, where can I download a free service manual for this item? I have removed...

Edwards Electronics not only repairs the following amps they also do upgrades to them so they do not burn up again: TSS1100 TSS1200 PS10 PS12 E250P PS210 and a few others - Look on Google for them or Ebay. Thanks.

INFINITY AMP PROTECTION LIGHT FLASHING FOR 5 SECONDS

I have an Infinity amp as well, and I was having the same issue for a time. The amp is protecting itself from some sort of overload. It could be the Ohms load on the sub, but I would guess not. Make sure your low pass filter is set to LP and not HP or Flat. Then check the RMS on your subs and match that to the Amp RMS. Once I did all that I found that everything worked fine, for a time. It started doing this again, and I checked the fuse and it was blown badly. It seems that the fuse setup on some of these Infinity amps is not as good as one would hope, because the charge was bridging the gap and frying out my fuses. It was like a spark would jump from one side of the fuse to the other without travelling the fuse itself, and this was causing my protect issues. I pulled the fuse, got a new one of the same rating, but I placed the fuse in with a little piece of rubber in between the 2 contacts, and then connected to the fuse block. I have not had problems since.

Infinity Entra Sub 150 no sound or power

I had the same problem. When I opened it up, the fuse was blown, and it was a pain to find the fuse it needs (3 Amp, 250 V slow-blow fuse, 5x20 mm). Also, the 2 large electrolytics (big purple things near the amp) and one small capacitor were all blown. For 4 fuses, bought seperately from, and the 2 electrolytics and 1 capacitor, it cost about $20, plus almost 20 more in shipping, which still isnt bad considering the original price of the sub. However, the tricky part is that you have to know how to use a soldering iron to take out the old components and put in the new ones.

No sound

Willing to bet you've blown the amp, or fused the coil. I've had it happen twice, apparently when running off a power source that apparently couldn't handle the load. Hope it's under warranty - if so Loud Technologies (deals with all Mackies warranty stuff) should be able to replace the unit. Otherwise, you'll need to take it in to a service department and have it checked out.

Good luck, you'll have to arm wrestle with them to get them to replace it.

Infinity PS-12 Subwoofer clicking in and out of standby

Hello,
Unfortunately your subwoofers amplifier circuitry will need to be repaired ,the amplifier is bad and kicking in to protect mode. This mode is designed for safety of the unit and user and sub should not be operated until repaired as it may incur more damage to the components. I hope this helps.

Protect light flashing/ticking

this problem sound like you have too low of power going to your amp, test your battery and make sure its putting out enough power for at least the mininum amount of power that your amp requires, you can find that information in your manual or sometimes they post it on the amp itself. i hope this info helps
