You can unlock your Nokia Lumia 520 with the help of many method but i have only 1 solution. I am sharing you few steps hopefully the steps solved your problem.
Steps: Firstly power off your Nokia Lumia 520. Press and hold the Volume Down button for about eight seconds, or until an exclamation point displays on-screen.
If using a Windows 7 Nokia 520, press and hold the Power button, Camera key, and Volume Down button until the phone begins to vibrate.
Press the Volume Up key, then press Volume Down, followed by the Power button, then the Volume Down key once again. This keystroke pattern will unlock your device, and reset the security passcode along with factory settings.
If using a Windows 7 Nokia 520, release the Power button, while continuing to press and hold the Camera key and Volume Down buttons.
Release all buttons when the phone reboots. The welcome screen will display, and your phone will be unlocked and restored to the original factory settings. Thankyou
Hold the power button for 10 - 15 seconds until the phone restarts
If that doesn't work, you might need to do a hard reset. Keep in mind that hard reset WILL ERASE all contents from the phone! But... sometimes, it's better to have your phone back than a brick with stuff on it.
Hard reset:
Make sure the phone is in the OFF position
Hold the 3 buttons: volume down + power + camera
Once the phone vibrates, let of of the power and continue to hold volume down and camera for another 5 seconds
If that still doesn't work, you probably need to contact Nokia Support (now Microsoft Lumia support)
Try this- Press power + volume down , keys until the phone vibrates (about 8-10 seconds). See if it switches ON ..
If not wait till the Battery is completely drained. Then connect the charger .. Leave it for about an hour and see if it has switched ON on its own .. Else try the reset once again
If this isn't due to your phone being dropped in water, try doing a soft rest. To do this........Hold the "down volume" and "power button" at the same time for ten secs, until it vibrates, then let go of those buttons. The phone will now reboot. This will not erase any of the content on your phone (i.e., games, contacts list, programs, etc.)
I had this happen on my Lumia 920 a lot. I pressed and held the power button till it finally rebooted. I seemed like it took a minute before it finally rebooted, so don't give up after 10-30 seconds. If that doesn't work try the power button and volume down button till it reboots. Some sites say this is a hard reset that wipes the phone, but as a last resort, I tried it when the power button alone wouldn't "wake it up". When it rebooted everything was normal, so either it isn't a "hard reset" or it doesn't do the "hard reset" when the phone is locked up and the screen is black. I never tried the power and volume down reset when the phone was operational, so I don't know.
