What is 8,795 to the nearest hundred
When rounding, we always look at the number one to the right of the one we are rounding to. In this example, we are rounding to the nearest hundred, so we look at the number in the 10s column. In this case, it is 9. If the number in this column is 5 or above, we round the number in the hundred column up by one, and set the 1s and 10s columns to zero. You should get 8,800. If the number in the 10s column was 4 or below, we would leave the hundreds column the same as it was, and set the 1s and 10s columns to zero.
