  • Type "regedit" in the Start menu
  • In the window that opens navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList
  • Backup your registry key as what you're about to do is risky (with ProfileList highlighted, click File and Export and choose a backup name)
  • Then scan through the ProfileList IDs and delete any with ProfileImagePath found in it as it shouldn't be there
  • Close regedit, reboot and next time KB3081424 should install properly

I found a Trojan on my Acer aspire 5250 running win 10, I'm stuck on blue screen with critical system failure. Have rebooted dozens of times, have tried alt f10, and I'm stuck in a godforsaken loop. Any...

Try the Kaspersky Rescue Disk. You will need a USB flash memory device ("memory stick") and a working computer with Internet access to download and prepare the Rescue Disk program. Follow the directions in the page linked below. The USB memory should be at least 512 MB, formatted as a FAT32 device, and contain no critical files (contents will be wiped by the preparation process).
How to record Kaspersky Rescue Disk 10 to USB device and boota computer...

The Rescue Disk takes over the boot process and runs its own operating system rather than the one that has been sabotaged. Consequently, it is not blocked by damaged or bypassed system files on your hard drive, and can get into them for repairs.

If you wish to retain the Rescue Disk for future use, follow the links for updating its virus removal database to see what information you will need to make a network connection (numbers from the Network Control Panel of your computer once you get it running again). Since the Rescue Disk operating system is necessarily minimal, Internet connection information has to be entered manually. You may find it simpler to make a fresh Rescue Disk install instead if you are confident you will have access to a working computer the next time you need to do so.

How do I fix a next book tablet that's stuck in a repair loop?

You didn't say what is the OS but when you encounter this situation it is hard disk. I suggest rescuing data first. If you know about computers you can take the disk out, mount it in another computer, rescue data. Buy another disk and install OS and data after that. If you don't know how to do this take it to a shop.

    Starts. & shut down immediatly

Rootkit and boot viruses do this.best solution is to try safe mode...if it still restarts then you need to either piggyback the drive onto another machine and run several antivirus boot kit virus checks.....tdskiller...malwarebytes....kapersky rescue disk....to name a few....if yiu can't remove hdd and you are able to download hirens boot disk 15.2 and put it on a usb stick you can setup the boot sequence in the bios to run the usb first...thus will install a temporary copy of windows Xp onto the computers ram.this bypasses the boot sequence of an infected computer.then run combifix.
you can also download combo fix from bleepingcomputer.com
This is a complete package that runs rootkit checks and cleans out most of the things that cause boot loops.good luck.

My computer won't stay running. It keeps shutting off and when I go to start it up it will start to start up and then shut down. If it does start up it makes a loud noise on start up.

Root kit viruses can cause this.this is a boot loop virus that causes a repeated shutdown loop to prevent normal access to operating system. If you can't get into safe mode and run malwarebytes. See if you can download tdskiller or kapersky rescue disk onto a usb stick on another computer. Then on the infected machine change the bios to read from usb first.the flash screen usually tells you to hold or tap f2 or del on most computers to get into bios... But some it is f10 or f12. Google rootkit virus or go to bleepingcomputer.com and follow instructions. These are quite difficult to remove.if all of the above fails see if you can piggyback the hard drive on to a protected machine and scan and clean infected drive.

    Dear Frnd,
Its actually virus which is running hidden in system files display unnecessary msg. you need to do if you have rescue disk which comes with antivirus. its an bootable linux based os which is directly boot & run its own os. after booting you have to do full scan . i personally trusted rescue disk KASPERSKY. you can do like that or atlast you have to format the harddisk with new installation..

    Windows7 stuck in loop

go to a local pc repair shop and have them burn you a windows disk for your version....the license is on a sticker on your PC, the Media (or disk,) doesn't matter for licensing purposes.

You can then attempt a start-up repair. boot from the cd, choose 'repair my computer', then choose the top radio button regarding advanced startup or recovery tools.

I bought my new Sony Vaio VPCEH last 2 weeks ago,. dual core, 2.3ghz, 4gb ram.. what i wondered is why my cpu almost overload all the time even i just use firefox, or explorer (opening folders ) or so

The CPU is runnimg with a useage of 45-60% as soon as the laptop has booted up because Kapersky is upgrading the virus definition file and is running a virus check on the files stored on the hard disk. When Kapersky has finished these tasks then you will see a drop in CPU useage.
NOTE as you install more programs and as your data files increase so will it take longer for Kapersky to carry out the virus scan.

Start it up in Safe Mode by pressing F8 as it boots up. Normally that will repair the corrupt file. When fully loaded press start and close the laptop.
