These are a pain. You can go online with model number & get the diagram. Its the same as a John Deere. You will have to loosen the steering arm 7 rasie the steering wheel just enough to pass the belt thru. Make sure you mark its position for reailigning before disconnecting. Diagram should also be in your owners manual. Goo dluck with this one
Ok Simple Rule V BELTS go in V pulleys Flat pulleys get the back of the belt. You must take the deck off the tractor to do this properly. Look inside the hood I have seen belt diagrams there or on top of the deck. When all else fails Go to the JD Dealer they will gladly help.
jd lt 166 has 5 different decks 3 of which have the same belt routing 1st the belt needs to be adjusted correctly to stop it from "slacking off" then on most decks the belt is routed in between the 2 small idler pulleys and then to the engine pulley so let me know the deck i.e. 36", 42 ", 46", 48" different belt sizes also kendo
