Stylus Photo 820 printing magenta lines

Do the magenta lines go outside the picture into the white border? If so, the print head has gone bad, and the cost to replace a print head is more than a new printer.

Epsons are notorious for this sort of problem, especially in used infrequently as ink residue dries on the print head; try using a cleaning cartridge, or swab around relevant print head with cotton bud and ethanol/isopropyl alcohol. Try to perform a print head alignment.

Try jiggling the cables and making sure that the USB connection is solid. It worked for me. Good luck.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the printer and now it prints fine, though the paper jammed twice for no apparent reason. Guess it's time for a new printer.

I had this trouble, went through cleaning & realignment, then various print options. What i found was that dark colours had faint dark horizontal lines 5mm apart when printing on Photo in the epson driver. Changing it to Best Photo solved it.

directly hooking the printer to mac and windows computer are you getting bandings still? interesting issue... we will isolate it first by trying to hook printer directly to both computer, if its printing fine when directly connected, then there is something on the application or communication process. try printing a different document using same application when on the network and try printing from different application as well. update me afterwards..

chech the ink pan below maximum waste overflow, take the injection pump it or enject until ink finish.check ink cartidge or not fully engage the lock.
