Oven Temp I set the oven to pre heat, it hits desired temp but then 5 minutes later the temp has dropped 100 degrees. Need to continually check for desired temp.

After it drops temp shut it off and reset. Then it appears that the broiler may be coming on when you reset the temp cause items are getting well done on top more than the bottom. But I do see the bottom element on.

Oven does not maintain temp. Drops 50 to 100 degrees and never maintains the temp set on the thermostat. If I want 350 I have to set the over at 420.

After it drops temperature, how do you get it back to the desired degrees? It sounds like the thermostat isn't keeping up.

Bottom oven isn't heating to desired temp. Considering swapping the heating elements to see if one is faulty - thoughts?

try thermostat first. verify heating elements operational, if so check if tstats are same. swap if so, If not jump out tstat and see if higher temp achieved.

Gas oven doesn't get hot enough

Good Morning Friend,

I understand that your Frigidaire oven will not heat to temperature if you set it to 350 degrees. I see that you have to set it to 450 degrees for it to heat up, and then turn it back down to the desired temperature. Please try resetting your appliance, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your home's circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes. Restore power, set the clock and try setting the temperature to 350 degrees. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Temp shows 400 but oven is at 300

Is it continues to heat up then its working fine...if it continues to heat pass 400 then your have a thermostat problem and the oven is out of control. I do believe that the display is not an actual reading of the oven temperature, instead it is a reading of where the operator has set the temperature to . I have yet to see an oven with a actual reading temperature display.

I have just installed a Maytag built-in double oven to replace my old one (still working.) I shut off circuit breaker and reconnected wiring. The Control Panel and indicators on the digital readout all...

How many active terminals are there at the main terminal block in the new oven. Is this a single or 2 phase supply. Have you connected the active supply to all active terminals. If only half of the oven is working it sounds like it could be a problem at the terminal block. If so, you need to put a loop or bridge wire to the 2nd active terminal.
If all this was done correctly when connected the only other thing it could be is the electronic clock needs to be set to manual mode for the oven to work correctly.

GE free-standing electric range Pre-heat oven temp is about 50 degrees less than what is set (i.e. set digital display to 400 and over only reaches about 350). Is there an adjustment that can be made to...

We have a new GE Range and the signal beeps at about 100 degrees below the temp which we have set . The dealer replaced the sensor and the control circuit, but there was no change.
A service tech from GE came to our house and explained that the new ovens have a bottom heating element which is covered and therefore heats the lower part of the oven more slowly; but the exposed upper element heats more rapidly and the sensor is located near the upper element. We were advised to wait for about 15-20 minutes after the beep before placing the food in the oven. Judging from the number of comments found online, this seems to be a feature of newer ranges.

The Taylor oven thermometer you bought is decent at best. It is most likely the sensor inside the oven. Has your clock displayed any fault codes? F, followed by a number? Changing the sensor will probably correct the problem.
