Pfaff Hobby 380--

I cannot find any information on the internet about your machine.

Are you thinking your machine has dual feed not really a built-in walking foot?

I did find this web site where it lists a walking foot for models without dual feed:
http://www.thecolorfulworldofsewing.com/Pfaff-Walking-Foot-for-Models-Without-Dual-Feed-IDT.html

If you go to this page and scroll to the bottom, you can call them with specific questions about your machine: http://www.thecolorfulworldofsewing.com/Pfaff-Presser-Feet/

You can probably also ask them about getting a manual for your machine.

OR

Here are some manuals you can download (all for a fee):
http://www.manuals.club/document_order_init.php?search=PFAFF%20HOBBY%20380&doctype=1

The 380 manual is not available but the 350 or 382 are probably similar for basic information: http://s2.vsmgroup.com/VSM/Pfaff/pfaffmanual.nsf

Walking Foot Trouble

sounds to me like you are getting what I call "flagging" of the material... where a tiny bur or something catches the material and pulls it up. If possible increase the presser a bit on the presser foot. You might also have the wrong foot for the machine or simply a defective one.

Also when it does this... do you notice any bobbin thread on top of the seam?

I purchased an Elna 7000 on E-Bay.Wonderful machine. I also purchased a 492000-20 walking foot for it. I can not find instructions on how to attach the walking foot to the machine.

I'm assuming that this is a generic style walking foot for low shank machines and it will fit your Elna?
To attach it, you will see a long lever arm at the front of the foot and the little curved bracket at the back of the foot.

Remove your usual foot and the clip on foot holder by undoing the thumb screw. Now fit the walking foot on instead by putting the lever arm around the needle bar and the curved bracket around the pressure bar and then putting the thumb screw back into place and screw up tight to hold the foot in place. Now lower the pressure foot and manually wind your machine forward a few stitches. As the needle bar goes up and down, it should move the long lever arm too which works the walking foot teeth gripping the top layer of fabric with each stitch.

Trust this helps.

Using a walking foot on my Necchi 3537

Hi JoEllen,
The walking foot replaces the normal pressure foot on your machine. There is a screw on the left-hand side of the pressure shaft that holds the ankle (if your Necchi uses snap-on feet) on the shaft. Loosen this screw until the pressure foot (or the pressure foot/ankle combination) comes off. Now slip the walking foot on where the other foot came off and tighten that screw. You're ready to go!
