For the person who had a Samsung Blu-Ray Player with a Vizio television, I got my code by counting up from zero. The Samsung Blu-Ray Player remote codes are 2 digit, so it shouldn't take too long to go through the possibilities. Just hold in the TV Power button while you try the codes. Mine was 19.

The code is 19. then you have to let go of the tv power button, then the tv will turn off!!!

I have a Samsung SS system (HT-C6500). They do not list a Vizio remote code for their remote which only takes 2 digit codes. . The number "18" did. (ON, OFF, CHANNEL, VOLUME and MUTE),

I used code 1758. I don't think the code is essential to solve this problem. What you guys need is instead of pressing "input" and then scrolling down to HDMI, keep pressing "input". It will cycle through all the inputs and stop pressing when you get to the one you want.

The instructions on letting the Hipi remote to seach for the code that came with my remote are not correct. I used the instructions from HOWTO.COM and printed below. There are two changes from the printed instructions. The first is to push the <TV> button after the <Code Search> button. The second is that the <Enter> button saved the code not the <MUTE> button.

Instructions

Turn on the Vizio TV.

Aim the Jumbo Universal Remote at the Vizio TV and hold down the "Code Search" button on the remove for roughly 3 to 5 seconds. The LED lights on the Jumbo Universal Remote will come on.

Press the "TV" button at the top of the Jumbo Universal Remote.

Start pressing the "ON/OFF" button repeatedly until the Vizio TV turns off. (This took only a few tries for my Vizio TV)

Press "Enter" on the remote immediately after the Vizio TV turns off to save the code.

Test the Jumbo Universal Remote by trying to control the Vizio TV with the remote. If the control doesn't work with the remote, repeat the entire process.

Maybe too late for you but ATT just gave me a code that works with my Vizio plasma. Code is 1343. Even the mute works correctly. They gave me some others to try but I didn't need them. Other codes were 1018, 0030 and 0056.

I have a 37 inch vizio and had the same problem. After a little web research, I came across a suggestion that the LG codes might work. I tried it and found that the code 19 worked. You might try that. If 19 doesn't work for you, one of the other LG codes might (they are 06, 21, 22, 23 or 78).

Code for Vizio tv
I contacted Vizio the other day. They tell me that they use the same generic codes as LG. I have Suddenlink Cable, formerly Charter, so I still use the Charter remote. My remote only needed 3 digits and I have noticed that many need 4 or 5. I can tell you that the LG code worked for my tv. I can power on/off, volume, and change the channel. All other functions require the manufacture's remote. The code I used is 005. There was also 004 but that did not work on my tv. Hope this helps someone!
