I have a LG LP0910WNR portable air conditioner. The P2 code came up so I emptied the tank. It keeps giving the P2 code and shutting off. Why does it continue to do so even after emptying the tank?

I am not completely familiar with these units but I believe they use a float to determine condensate levels. This float may be stuck in the raised position.
According to page 24 of your owner's manual, the E1 error is indicative of a short circuit in the Indoor Air Thermistor. The unit will likely require service.
P2 is a water tray full error. I had error once, and it had me puzzled because I have a tube from the back, and unit elevated. It was producing water out the back, so it was clearly draining. Called LG (very prompt service, no wait times at all). The girl said that error was water tray, I still didn't believe her. So I pulled unit from location, and tipped at a good angle. Sure enough, less that a cup of water drained, and now it works fine.
Sorry but you are just going to have to keep emptying it.These types or air conditioners are also use as de-humidifiers and unless you can place it somewhere where you can connect a drain hose it is going to require many trips to dump the holding tank of the condensation.
