Ok first plug in the power cord and check to see if your TV has a stand by light. Next check to see if there is a back light glow tot he screen and use a flashlight to shine close to the screen and see if you have any image of like a menu etc. If there is none then your T-con board could be defective. If you can't turn on the tv and you don't have a stand by light then your power board is defective.

This is weird. I also have a plasma 50" model PS5Q91HDX and on the 5/02/11 the screen went blank when my friends daughter was watching a Wiggles DVD. The image kept coming back, flashing a scene or two before going black again. But the sound is perfect.

I wonder what is going on? Is anyone else having trouble with their 3-4 year old Samsung 50" TVs???

Samsung is a RIP OFF. Plasma has a blank screen
I agree! I'd rather have a Sony. The controller board is probably bad. I suggest getting an LED or LCD HDTV. They're lighter and consume less power than a plasma.

While watching TV screen went blank. Voice stayed on
the photon charges at the back of the tv might be damaged, try to take it in to be repaired if not i suggest u buy a new one, please, please, please do not take it apart to fix it urself, alot of bad burns have happened to people who try to fix plasma tv's.
