The Mastercool cooler is not cooling. It is only

Posted also on the Cooler quick cycling problem:
My Master Stat Controller (CC2000A Rev 2003) was in 2 parts. The Thermostat unit in the house and the Power Control unit in the Cooler. The power Control unit was mounted on the squirrel cage fan housing so it vibrated some when running. That means the components vibrated slightly with respect to the PC board. Especially the larger components. My first symptom - Intermittent failure to turn the water pump on. I could see a faint crack in the solder around the pin of a relay on the PC board. Re soldering the PC pins solved that problem. Later, the second symptom was quicker than usual on-off cycling of the fan. I re-soldered all the pins on the PC board and all problems subsided. A better mounting place for the Power Control Unit would be good, but outside of the cooler might be a thermal problem here in the hot desert south west.

No! The unit needs air flow across the grills for it to cool properly. But your unit should be shades so an awning over it would help. We use a piece of camoflage netting over ours and it seems to help quite a bit.

The solution is to install "up ducts" These devices are easy to install and are fairly cheap. With a swamp cooler the best way to use them is to allow them to draft outside with the "up duct" you get the drafting to the outside but also get to remove attic heat too.

Check if the water is getting into the unit. check if it is pumping any water over the filters. cooler will meet its limits at 90% humidity plus

They are pretty must the same design, the Mastercool was made with heavier metal. But Mastercool are no longer being made,,,, so I guess if it's a new one you are looking for,,, Ultra Cool it will be.

Check the compressor relay (in the outside unit) Most likely it's stuck.

I take it this is a window Unit , the water is coming in the room because the Unit has to be pitched about 1/2 into the back ( outside ) or the drain line is clogged ( dirt) stopping water from flowing to condenser ( that cools the coil)
The water is condensation from warm air hitting the cold coil .

It will work fine as a spot cooler if he has direct airflow on him, otherwise it wont do much for cooling the building.
