Hi Mark, it's Jack at Dyson.

The bin base on Dyson cordless vacuums is a push-fit part. The two taps on the hinge attached to the base fit into the two corresponding indents on the main section of the clear bin.

If you'd like further guidance on refitting the base, or if you'd prefer to order a replacement bin assembly, just give the Dyson Customer Helpline a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

Recently purchased a Dyson V6 Cordless Vacuum, which has fallen several times now. Since the last fall when pushing down on the power button the noise is intermittent. Why is this?

Hi Julia, it's Jack at Dyson.

Just to make you aware, accidental damage resulting from a drop or a fall would not be covered under your Dyson warranty, so please take care to avoid this wherever possible.

If your Dyson V6 pulses on and off when you hold the trigger down, the motor is signalling that something is blocking airflow from passing through the machine. There could be an obstruction inside the floor tool, wand or bin inlet - but it's also worth checking the flap inside the bin inlet. The flap opens and shuts to prevent debris from escaping, but it's possible it could have jammed shut when the machine fell. Our video guide may help:

If you'd like further assistance after giving this a try, just call the Dyson Customer Helpline to speak with our experts. You can reach us on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

I have a Dyson DC-07. The green cap with holes in it usually covers the end of the wand when used in upright vacuum mode. Now it just jumps open and so is very noisy when in use.

Regardless of the position of the green cap, there should only be suction through the pipe when the handle is locked in the upright position and you are using the flexi pipe. You should not be getting suction when the cleaner is being used as a traditional upright cleaner.

The chacces are that the little rubber flap that cuts off the vaccuum from the flexi pipe has something jamming it open (hairclips, dropped needles and bits of stick are favorite. Lay the machine on its front with the body fully flattened out and look down the extension pipe to the place where it ends (the area that would normally be very close to the floor if it was upright) You will see the little rubber flap at the end. My money is on you seeing something stuck there.

Please add a comment if this doesn't fix your problem and we can discuss more

I have a singer 600E touch and sew. I accidently took out the bobbin case and can't seem to get it back in. Can you please tell me how? Thanks

Open the slide plate, and remove the needle plate. The needle plate should be raised by a lever on the right hand side of the bed.Move it to the left, then raise the needle or take it out.It is also easier if you remove the sewing foot.Once you have the slide plate moved towards you you will see a black piece of metal in the front right corner of the bobbin area.Lift it up and slide it to the right.Position the bobbincase with the metal flap that locks the bobbin in towards you so when you lift it up it is on the end closest to you.Make sure the bobbin case is in the groove of the hook(the round thing that spins when you turn the handwheel)once you have the bobbin case in position you bring the black metal pieceover to the left and it will drop down to secure the bobbincase.Turn the hand wheel towards you the bobbincase should stay in place and the hook should turn around it.If it turns smoothly replace the needle plate, close the slide plate, screw the foot back on and replace the needle. You are done. www.sewvac.com

Hoover Mach 4 Overheats and shuts down after a few minutes

You have lost air flow due to blockage. Look for blockage in the throat of the machine where dirt enters from the floor. Do this by removing the base plate or opening throat inspection flap if so equipped. Also detach the hose and drop a coin through to see if there is and obstruction in that area.

Dyson DC07 Clear Bin Flap will not release

I just received my replacement root cyclone in the mail today after waiting in the back-ordered status for three months. I positioned a butter knife in between the rubber gasket on the bottom flap lid and the bottom rim of the clear bin at the farthest point from the hinge and slowly and gently wiggled the knife between until the bottom flap just fell open. I examined the rubber gasket and it survived without injury and the bottom flap seals without any gaps...good luck

Flap

Most likely the diverter valve is broken part #2136988. You will have to remove the top to replace it.

Sebo felix upright

Hey Debs
Ive got a Sebo Felix. Unfold the bag (if its folded) and drop it into the top of the bin. Once you've aligned the plastic parts the two nibs which are pointing outwards towards the handle, make sure the plastic collar is sitting on the rest of the surround.

Now the most important aspect is the plastic flap - not the dust cap - but if standing behind the Felix, there is a green flap on the left hand side of the bag which must be pushed down over the spring (looks like a large staple). Once that is folded over and locked in, the lid should close. If the lid still doesn't close check that the top hose fitting has been securely locked and is dust free. Dont forget to rate, ty.

Diverter knob & flap & gasket broke

You will have to pull the top cover off, it fits underneath unto the knob. When you see the bottom, you should be able to tell. The arm of the diverter goes thru the hole and then hooks onto the bottom of the knob.

Canister problem

If it won't latch after cleaning the latch and making sure that everything is seated well, get in touch with Dyson, they're great about making things right with their vacuums.
