My dryers control push pad is not working - Maytag Neptune MDE5500AY Electric Dryer

  • Mike Kunkel Apr 14, 2016

If it's not responding to any buttons, check the 3300uf @ 16V filter capacitor on the control board behind the touch panel. Simple fix usually. The capacitor is definitely bad if the top is swelled and/or leaking.

LG Dryer Power button is pushed in

More than likely, the button pad support inside the panel is broken and the whole control panel will need to be replaced. You will need the complete model number to get the correct part number.

Problem with my maytag neptune mde7550 dryer will not go through any cycles by useing touch screen and will not switch off by touch screen

The only way possible to see if the touch pads are working is to test the voltage of the control pads when it contacts. The input of the Microprocessor should be checked for the pad control impulse to come in. If there is no trigger voltage to the mP this can be the control pad problem.
The mP must be checked for the working voltage and also the frequency oscillation at the crystal leads. If so the mP is working with a suspected control pads which are not able to set the program or timing.
There is no way but to remove the sticker pad and replace, One difficult way to have a chance is to remove the carbon sticker pads and check continuity , You can use a carbon pen to line the tracks so that the multi-meter reads a continuity. With this you can have a temporary fix

Dryer check filter light keeps blinking and dryer will not start cleaned lint filter and nothing happened display on control board blinks when dryer is turned on and that's about it can you assist dyer...

I had the same problem, Check Filter light blinking and beeping, could not select drying type or start dryer. Short story, turned out to be the Less time button was stuck pushed in. Long story, a week before I had replaced the drum rollers and belt, everything was working fine for the week after then this problem. Totally by accident, after trying all the recommended actions (unplugging, pushing buttons, etc.) leaning on the right front corner would stop the beeping and allow the machine to work. Pushing all the buttons, I found the Less time button would not click. Apparently, when I took the control panel off to change the rollers and belt I flexed the control panel enough to misaligne the button and switch. Pulling the back of the control panel loose and making sure the push button and switch were aligned and working correctly everything works fine now.

Start/pause button not working, is it the control panel or the control electronics board?

First unplug the Dryer and allow about 5 mins to pass, this will allow the board time to reset, plug Dryer back in, if problem is still present, its possible that the touch pad is defective on the dryer, if other functions work when touched, it is the touch pad, and not the Board

Control wont work stuck on low heat & delicates

Sounds like the control board has gone out on you. Also, you can check for any thermal fuses that my have gone out as well. You will need to refer to you wiring diagram for your specific dryer brand and model.

Whirlpool dryer calypso touch pad stopped working

CHECK YOUR INSRUCTION MANUAL TO SEE IF THERE IS A CHILD LOCKOUT FEATURE ON THE CONTROL PANEL. USUALLY, THERE IS A TOUCH PAD TO HOLD FOR 5 SECONDS TO LOCK/UNLOCK THE CONTROLS. YOU CAN ALSO TRY UNPLUGGIN THE DRYER FOR 5 MINUTES TO SEE IF THE MICRCOMPUTER WILL RESET.
