Tablet boots with power supply connected but when on battery power alone when pressed the power on/off button lights up with the hdd light and then goes off then on then off about 5 times.

Temitope, Hard reset. Open computer, remove battery,hold power button down (((1 minute))), reinsert battery, reassemble laptop, push/hold power button a couple seconds.
2nd fix, try to boot laptop without hdd.(hard drive). Remove the hdd, then turn on the laptop.. then it can get into the bios.. reset the bios to the default setting, turn off the laptop, and then turn it on again with hdd reinstalled. This seems to be what works in the forums with this issue found in Asus laptops. Check the attached links,instruction and guides, Good luck

First possiblility is too much load on the power supply. Unplug the power connections to everything except the HDD you boot from. If it powers up buy a larger power supply.
If it still doesn't power up, it's a bad power supply. Check the output. You should have -5vac, +5vac, -12vac and +12vac output. If any are missing replace the power supply.

remove the battery and main AC adapter .press power button 15sec. also pls insert ac adapter and power on.

Are you plugged in at all? Try with plug plugged in. I think your battery is dead.

first try takeing out your battery and power lead then hold your power button pressed for around a minute then plug it back it and try to boot although it sounds daft it does quite often work

try replacing power supply or battery pack. If problem persists, you may have to change your motherboard.

inside the pc there should be a green light. called flea light. if its not on.. then id say motherboard or power supply are bad.
take power cord off. and hold power button down for 10 ecs. then reconnect and retry. i think its abad psu.

sounds like a problem i had with a philips laptop (which appears to be a twinhead repackaged as a philips)

This might sound weird but it works........

Take the battery out and disconnect from the ac
Press and hold the power button for about 40secs
connect the ac but don't replace the battery and press the power button
then replace the battery and turn it on. it should work

you can try to replace the motherboard, which is apparently totally UnHappy

Here was the fix for me. The machine refuses to boot if the video card is not functioning. It should have one long beep however to tell you that there is a video problem. Someone hooked up our speaker incorrectly though! So we got no beeps. Once the speaker was hooked up and the video card was replaced, all is well!
