My rca rct6973w43 tablet still has marshmallow 6.0 will i ever get an update on the next o.s.?

The RCA RCT6973W43 will probably not get an OS update. This tablet was listed on Amazon's site in 2017. RCA would rather you buy a new gadget instead of making patches and updates compatible with their hardware. Google expects the manufacturer (for tablets and some phones) or the provider (most cell phones) to handle the updates. For the low-end tablets, like this RCA RCT6973W43, this means very minimal support for at most 1 year. For more expensive devices, you won't get updates for more than two-three years. Even Google branded devices don't get more than 5 years of updates.

I wish that I had better news for you.

My tablet went out and I have not had it a year.It will not come on.

If it's still on warranty, return it to the shop where you bought it for service.
Maybe it's just the battery? Get it checked but if not on warranty, I'm afraid that to repair it might cost you more then it's value. You can buy this tablet for about 50$ so you should ask how much might cost to repair it.

My RCA tablet model#RCT6293w23 locked out of tablet due to a virus/scam cannot access anything on tablet how do Ifactory reset when I can't use the settings or access any part of the tablet

You must then do a factory reset using the Power and Volume
Buttons.

Here is a good link that tells and shows how to do it:

http://www.rcatablets.com/how-completely-reset-your-rca-rct6103w46-android-422-tablet

The model number is not the same but it should work anyhow.

There is a typo in Step 1, however so do this instead:

With the tablet turned OFF (not sleep but OFF) press and hold down at the same time both the Volume(-) button and the Power button. Continue to hold both of them down until you get a screen with the Android Robot, and or green text. That should set you up to follow the instructions.

Good luck.

Tablet won't update

You may have to do a manual reset of the tablet and start ftom scratch, some tablets come with the hole at the back where you put a little pin and reset it but I'm not sure if this one does, Press and hold power then the volume down. Once you have an Android logo, release or let go of the buttons. that may reset it.
