Do not contact moto, they would never sell anything that might compromise the radio. You did not say what you were trying to do.... So I shotgunned the answer. 7" antenna will improve the range about 5 percent. There used to be a universal cell phone antenna, and it worked. To my knowledge, no one makes what you want but it should be easy enough. A weird thing to try would be to tape a portable VHF antenna to the existing antenna. Tape along the whole shaft, not the tip. Again, the radiation will passively go into the VHF antenna and the extra copper in the VHF antenna will increase the range a little.do not buy a metal telescoping antenna, a rubber sucky works better.

It is not the length of the aerial that matters but how it is wound there are books that explain the function of aerials and the relationship between windings and wave length or cycle so by studying the books and having a fibreglass fishing rod you can in effect may your own aerial to what ever length you like

Does anyone know what the range is for the Motorola talkabout T5725? I can't seem to find it anywhere

As a general rule handheld radios will talk up to 2 miles line-of-sight. Anything you place between the two radios will reduce range. Talking from inside a building to outside, you can expect 1/4 to 1/2 mile. This being said, a radio can talk as far as it can see, so if you were on a mountain top, you could conceivably talk many miles into a valley below. Height and placement of your antenna determines range. Holding your antenna upright perpendicular to the earth will give you the best range.

I need to know the watt of the t5509

The TalkAbout radios are 1/2 watt radios, with exception of the older larger TalkAbout Distance and Distance DPS, which were 1-2 watts.

How to get a Talkabout T5720 to communicate with a

The frequency range and operatngmode of the two radios are compatible. To get the Radius operating on a GMRS channel you'll need a Motorola programming cable and software, OR a trip to a Motorola dealer for frequency programming. Considering the cost involved, the 2-watt output of the Radius, and the 1-watt output of the Talkabout, you would be better off performance and cost wise buying a pair of 5-watt GMRS portables.

Perhaps the privacy code has been changed on one of the radios? If you have a manual follow the instructions for setting the codes and make sure they are the same on both radios.
