SOURCE: Bosch WFMC 3200 Front Load will not pump water out

the pump gears could be stripped or clogged with soap residue including the line from the pump to include the drain hose itself. I took the back of my machine off after cleaning the pump twice to find the reservoir full of a brown soap gunk/sludge. there is also a small rubber tube that runs from this reservoir back into the drum which was plugged shut with the same gunk. this thick soap residue can damage the pump motor or slow the drainage system to get the E 04 warning. I cleaned the gray drain hose out with the garden hose and was amazed at the sludge that game out. When the machine would run on the drain cycle we would also get a sewage smell that I thought was coming form the drain trap but turned out to be caused by the sludge in the pump. After cleaning the system and now using no more that a tablespoon of soap it works great & the cloths are clean.

SOURCE: My Bosch MOdel WFMC 3200UC washer won't spin or

Hello,

You haven`t mentioned whether you`ve checked the pump or not and obstructions and debris in Bosch pumps is very common, so I`ll assume you didn`t and explain how you can do it yourself.

**Unplug the washer from the wall or turn off the breaker before attempting any repairs**

  1. Get some towels and if possible a wet/dry vac. If the machine drained, it won't be too bad. If your machine is stuck full of water, I can't say, I'd guess you could get wet. ( unless you`re lucky enough to be close to a floor drain )
  2. Locate the round door on the front of the machine (about 6" in diameter, lower right corner)
  3. Find a drill bit or small screwdriver that fits in the hole in the round door.
  4. Insert the bit into the hole in the door. It will push in a tab, it doesn't take much force. Rotate the hole (clockwise) to 6'oclock and it should come free. (the edges are very sharp so be careful or wear chain-mail gloves).
  5. Once the door is out of the way you'll be greeted by a 3-4" plastic cap with wings so you can unscrew it by hand. ( you should also see a red ring with a string attached, if you pull this the door should unlatch, but getting the water out first is usually a good plan ) There is a small collector lip at the bottom of the cap, that is where you can hold the wet/dry vac to catch the water. Unscrew slowly so you don't get flooded, until it is unscrewed all the way out.
  6. Now pull out the trap and visually inspect the inside of the pump as well as the filter/trap. Hopefully you'll find the item/debris that initiated the error code.
  7. After removing any debris or obstruction`s re-install the button trap/lint filter and plug the washer in to power or reset the breaker and give it a test.
  8. Run a load and watch for leaks. Leave the pump access door off until you are sure you screwed the cap in tight and there are no leaks.
Ultimately you may have a faulty drain pump, but I would certainly start by performing the things I listed first.

Let me know if you require further assistance and if not and this solves your problem, please rate the solution I provided accordingly.

Thank you for coming to "fixya" and good luck.

Draining and filling at the same time

Have you checked that the drain hose is not too low?

The hose should be at least 1/2 the height of the appliance to prevent siphoning out. If the waste hose is the right height this will probably be overflow on the pressure switch. These are located inside at the top of the appliance and have a rubber hose coming off them. if a mechanical one (amp tag connectors) they can be blown into to reset, if they are the newer type they can not be blown into to reset.

If working on the appliance please ensure it is unplugged
