I would try taking the TV apart and removing/re-seating the control panel and buttons. It could be that the mechanism of the buttons is jammed or damaged in some way. In many cases breaks and damage to plastic mechanisms in there can be repaired with a bit of super glue.

Volume turns to zero constantly

Sounds like your volume down button is jammed in on the set, you may need to take it to a repair shop if you can't free it up from the outside.

See if the minus volume button on the TV is stuck. With the TV off press the various buttons while keeping your ears close to them. Each will produce a distinct click when you press them, confirm if the volume - key also produces the same sound - if not the key is defective or stuck.

No volume without holding remote button

The volume on either on your Remote or Tv is stuck down. This can be caused by spilling Liquid onto the remote (we all do it) you can test which one it is.

take the battery's out of the remote and turn the volume up via the Tv volume button on the telly. If this stays at the required Volume Then this means that the - volume button is stuck down on the remote. Try and clean it with something like a baby wipe or something similar (not a sopping wet cloth) If this does not work then you may need a new remote.

Hope this Helps

Volume turns down

Enasni,
It's probably a tact switch problem, something we call in the industry awindex syndrome. The tact switches, depending on the ones effected, can turn the tv on/off by itself, channel +/- at will or in your case control the volume.
Tact switches are not expensive to replace but a bit difficult to get to if you're not trained. They are at the very front of the board - looking from the back - and some disassembly may be necessary to take the main board out.
A reputable shop wouldn't charge much do fix this problem, switches are about a dollar a piece.
Good Luck

TV Volume turns down by itself - Philips 29PT8319 Matchline 27"

Most likely the volume down button on the front of the TV or the switch that it activates is sticking. Should be an easy fix otherwise.
