I am using a Nortel Networks T7316E phone. The previous employee did not like to hear incoming calls and turned off the ringer. We we try to put the phone on speaker with a client the speaker phone feature does not work. I have went through the manual. I tried taking the DND off, I have tried changing ringers (you can't even hear the options), and I have tried increasing the volume and unmute. Nothing has worked. The phone is still not ringing (when calls come in). It seems to be a volume issue. We figured out how to fix this once before, but when we moved the lines around the problem came back. We even tried turning off the located and plugging it back in the previous outlet (but someone had already put a different phone line there, and it just picked up that phones settings). Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you.
Hit feature button, then * 8 0. You should hear ringing. Now press the volume bar to adjust the volume. Nortel t7316e manual
Feature * 80 will adjust ringer volume, when the set is not on a call. Feature * 0 (button inquiry) and then the intercom key will identify the set extn or maybe just the set name. You can call the extension # around the office to identify the ext #s. When you moved the set it would have taken on the extn of the jack you moved it to, if set relocation is off in programming. This new extn # may not be programmed to ring on incoming calls, this is in configeration programming.
Have you tried to call the phone and adjust the volume on the set while the call is coming in? I think the only way you can adjust the ringer volume is if the phone is ringing.
