A manual for the thermostat is needed to recalibrating if doable, thermostat model number and brand needed to get the right manual.
A thermostat mount location should be planned. Any holes leading into the wall should be sealed, in other words, the thermostat needs to be insulated and isolated from fake temperature readings, no back drafts or not heat or cooling sources near by.

SOURCE: furnace-not heating all rooms to set temperature

Depending on where your living room is in comparison to your furnace it could be just that the fan doesn’t have enough force to get it there so what is happing is that all the other air is reaching other rooms before it. There are products that can help with this u can find them at larger hardware stores they r inline fans that go in the ductwork or there r a flat type of fan that mounts on the vent and plugs into a wall outlet that will pull the air to that room the latter would be much easier but it is your choice. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: My central ac system occasionally

I have seen this is many digital thermostats. The worst problems usually come from the touchscreen thermostats. I would suggest installing a new thermostat. Make sure that you read the instructions before you even remove the old one.

SOURCE: thermostat window ac turns unit on and off 8 degrees above se

the unit may be drawing the cool air it just released back into itself, plus the air close to the unit may be a little cooler than the air in the rest of the room.

I have an Observer Thermostat that's about 1 yr old. It's reading 5 degrees higher than 2 different digital thermometers. Is there a way to calibrate these things?

There is no way to calibrate the thermostat. It is set at the factory with an accuracy range of 2 to 3 degrees. It also can be the location of the thermostat. Even the wall it is mounted on can contribute to heat range. It is also measuring the ambient temperature in the room, which can vary depending on the contents of the room. If it aint broke, don't fix it. It is getting too cold to fiddle with the thermostat.

Why is Hunter thermostat temp is wrong ?

The most likely problem is the wall on which the thermostat is mounted. The thermostat is designed to read the temperature of the space in the room, but if the wall is exceptionally warm or cold it can really throw off the actual reading.
Options might be to stuff insulation into the wall behind the thermostat, or relocate it to a wall that is more consistent in temperature with the actual temperature in the room.

It is not uncommon for the room temperature and the set temp. on the thermostat to be several degrees apart. The room temperature should go down when you set the temperature on the thermostat down to a lower number.Hope this helps you and thanks.

Th8000 does not match another thermometer inside home

Is the thermostat mounted near a lamp or other heat source?
Is the wall warm from ducts in the wall or a refrigerator on the other side?
The thermostats are usually pretty accurate. Most times I find some other influence on the thermostat causes the problem.
The Honeywell 8000 series also has a feature accessed through the installer setup menu, that will allow the temp display to be changed + or - 8 or 9 degrees.
Check the manual or Honeywell's website for a .pdf if you need it.
Hope this helps.

Clean the Idle Air Control Valve. It's on the throttle body below the Throttle Position Sensor. Worked for me! Good luck.
