SOURCE: I have a uniden dect

Hi, I have a dect 2035 and began having the same problem. I don't know how the feedback came about but it was suddenly there today when I tried using the phone. After mucking around with one of the handsets I hit the speakerphone button and turned the volume all the way down, it only goes down to a preset minimum, I then turned speakerphone off again and turned the volume for regular handset mode all the way down too. The phone works beautifully again!

SOURCE: Static on my pair of Uniden cordless phones (Model DECT1560)

Is your base near a computer or other electronics? Also, make sure your microwave is not on. I get static if I do any of those things.

SOURCE: i keep hearing an echo when i speak into my phone

some phones have a natural problem with this due to the electronics in the handset others may have a button that says channel or scan this will allow the handset to look for a stronger channel between it and the base most of the time that will cure the problem. if not hang up and try your call again it will allow the base to do the same thing and may clear the problem up. nether helps you may have a defective phone.

SOURCE: Static interference on Uniden 5.8Ghz phone

i have a uniden 5.8 ghz cordeless and thought it was a piece of junk as well. I had static or lapse of audio near the router, the kitchen sink, the microwave (even when off) and in the doorway. I switched the frequency on the router and changed the channels on the phones all with no luck. Short of steering clear of my entire downstairs nothing worked.

Just about ready to buy a new phone and hit up google. Saw a posting that said to keep the base away from even the tv. . .hmmm this is exactly where mine was located. So I swapped the digital answering machine base and moved it downstairs and put the additional base near my flat screen. Guess what? Problem SOLVED! I still cannot believe it.

Hope this helps

Static noise

Time to purchase new phones. It is not worth repairing the electronic parts that are failing.

I have 2 of the above and replaced the batteries but still am having much static on the phones and cannot hear the caller or speak over the static?

I had the same problem and we found out my under ground phone line had been struck with lightning and the phone company replaced it. Works fine now. If you have other phones besides these two and they work it could be as simple as replacing the phone line that goes to these two phones.

Loud static

Remove the batteries let them discharge over night. Place in chargers for 24 hours. If still static unplug all phones from all jacks. Plug in a phone...a different one from the cordless ones. to make sure the static is not on the line.
You can then try to replace the rechargeable batteries or get a new phone.

When I receive or make a call there is so much static in the line I cannot hear the other person. What is going on?

You probably need to replace the phone....my original LG Dare had the same problem. It may also be the people you are speaking with on the other line. If you hear the static, hang up and call them back. See if the static is gone. If not, then bring the phone back to Verizon and ask them to replace it. If what you're talking about sounds like "tick tick tick" like a clock, I think that's inherent to this phone. I am on my second LG Dare and it always makes that sound when I talk to anyone, no matter what....but it isn't a static sound. Good luck and let us know if it helps!

Static on one handset

If this phone is connected to a phone line, move it to another. If the static goes away, then you know your phone line needs to be replaced.

Also, pop off the back cover and make sure the battery is plugged in securely. If the antenna is threaded, make sure it is snug.

Interference with wireless phones

Get yourself a new wireless phone. Newer technologies like DECT 6.0 don't interfere with wireless applications unlike older 5.8 and even older 2.9 gigahertz phones.

Static in the GE 29460 GE-2

I have the same problem with my GE 29460 GE-2 phone. I took apart the handset and the source of the humming and static is a bad (cheap) microphone. I have swapped in a spare handset from another phone which works for the time being... it doesn't fit the phone cradle very well. When I find a junked phone (any wired phone would probably work) with a good microphone I may try soldering in the mike into the old handset... its only a 2 wire solder job. I'm PO'd at GE for making junk so I don't want to buy the parts for this, if I could find them.

How do i get rid of this annoying static?

Static is caused by one a weak signal and two a defective circuit board in the phone.
