If there was a power surge associated with the outage, maybe not.

1994amana chest freezer. Worked fine until I had

It sounds like you had a leak which sometimes happens when not used for awhile and if so you would need to get it recharged and the leakage area located and fixed.

Fridge defrosted and the motor seems to have stopped working, electricity working fine to it

Most likely t-stat. If the t-stat is good then move to compressor. If you hear a hum then a click and it shuts off, that is the internal overload telling you the compressor is done and needs to be replaced.

Silver king skp4812 stopped working

Are you getting any noise at all from the back of the system. It sounds like it could be a bad t'stat or relay. This would stop it from working right away.

My amana upright freezer was working fine, but transported it to another location when I plugged it back in, it started to make a buzzing noise. How do I turn this off or fix it?

Hello....First...when you transported the freezer...you must sure the unit stays in the vertical position and not laying on it's side...back..or front....If the freezer is making buzzing noises...adjust the thermostat setting down until the buzzing stops...and increase the setting gradually until the desired temp is reached...it could take 24 hours for it to stablize...I hope this was helpful.....PEACE.......

My chest freeze just stopped working. Have checked

Your start relay or overload relay must have gone out. What is the model number of your unit?

Try a quick fix by useing a blow dryer to thaw around the water tube and ice maker. Also for good measure>>>

FREEZER FREEZING UP,FRIDGE DOES NOT WORK.WHEN YOU UNPLUG UNIT FOR 24 HRS THEN TURN BACK ON - WORKS FINE FOR A DAY OR SO .THEN FREEZER VENTS ICE UP AND FRIDGE STOPS WORKING. PLEASE ANY ADVICE- (I AM...

Normal 0 I had a frezer with the same problem. It's probably either your defrost timer or the defrost heating element. If you're handy, you can troubleshoot the problem yourself by following the suggestions found here. It's not a complicated fix, but if you are uncomfortable taking your refrigerator apart, then contacting a qualified repair person may be your best bet. Hope this information helps!

Fridge making a purring sound then stopped working

Yes, I think you have a problem that can be fixed easily by a repair technician. The sound as you described it could have come from the air circulation fan in the freezer compartment striking ice. As the ice builds up it could have stopped the fan from rotating and air flow to the refrigerator compartment.

Danby 3.6 cu ft freezer

If it is out of warranty the cost of repairing it may be more than the cost of replacing it.
