Some cycles stop at 17min, some at 11 min of the rinse cycle. I have been able to finish the cycle by opening the lid, and then starting it again, every few min. No error codes. I have tried with small loads also, but the rinsing problem remains the same. Is this something that can be fixed?
Are you saying its rinsing pouring water in then draining over and over?
If so Washer fills with water then drains:
The critical question is. Is the water is just running down the drain but the pump isn't running. If it is being pumped out, and you can hear the pump running just the same as when it's emptying prior to spin then it could be aborting the wash because it is, or it thinks it's overheating. ( due to defective water temperature switch)
If the pump is failing to shut off then there is something wrong with the electronics. If your washer is a mechanical timer controlled device then you may have a sticking switch (which may explain if switching cycles does something for you). But if you have an electronic timer then you may be experiencing a board failure, where a cycle is being commanded when it is not intended to by design.
If water isn't being pumped out, but just draining away all the time, the washer will keep detecting there isn't enough water inside and top up with more.
Modern washing machines should be sophisticated enough to realize something's wrong and abort with an error, but if not, it may continue washing or rinsing for a short while before losing enough water to trigger more coming in again. It can get stuck on this cycle indefinitely and it's called siphoning.
Siphoning occurs when the end of the drain hose is lower than the level of the water inside the washing machine.
Try raising the hose and see what happens.
Also the drain hose should have some type of air gap where it fits into the stand pipe. It should not have an air tight fit.
Again Either it's siphoning down the drain due to an issue with the plumbing, it's overfilling, or also if it ( THE WATER) overheats then in some machines the software will employ a fill and drain tactic to cool down the water. The important thing is to work out which of these different faults is causing the problem by careful observation.
Other switch's to check would be the water inlet valve and the water pressure switch with a multi meter for continuity or OHMS.
And in some modern washers that come with THERMISTORS:
One symptom of a washing machine that thinks it's overheating and thus fills and drains at same time ( possibly because of a faulty thermistor) is if it's filling with cold water and pumping out at the same time. This is covered in this articleWashing machine fills and drains at same timealthough the same symptom can be caused by other faults.
By the way my advice is free cuz God is good!
Yes powder is better, just put water in then the detergent then later the clothes. as for cleaning a mix of 1 part vinegar to 3 parts water soak in tub then wash a couple empty loads with this solution. then if possible even better would be to take apart the cabinet or remove top and clean down inside the outside of tub with rag and vinegar. but remember u have to remove the top tub guard which snaps off in order to get inbetween inner and outter tub, its the plastic pc that surrounds the tub at top

Some appliances has turbidity sensor and NTC thermistor which alowed to fuzzy logic to recognized state of washing machine. I mean "turbidity sensor" show is water clean or not. If yes, than depend of fuzzy logic, washing cycle will be shorter or skip one rinsing cycle.....etc.
When we talk about NTC, electronic recognized how much laundry is inside machine. More laundry means more water - more heating power.
According to this (time for heating), electronic can recognized if is drum full of laundry or not.

An easy Fix. Take off the kick panel, 3 screws 1/4 inch. Make sure you have a shop vac ready or a lot of towels as there will be some water. Always disconnect power to washer and dryer, and turn off water to washer. Your filter most likely is clogged with change, screws, lint, and other household stuff that we leave in our pockets! Unscrew the cap on the filter, easy to find, since you have the kick panel off! Take everything out of the filter. Take your shop vac and **** out remaining stuff in hose. Also, **** up any water that has leaked in and around the washer. Screw the cap back on hand tight, put the kick panel back on, turn your water back on, plug it in and there you go! Maybe takes an hour and saves you a repair bill. If you are not comfortable with this procedure then call a maintenance person that is qualified.

Most likely the RPS sensor or the control board. Originally they had trouble with the RPS sensors.
SOURCE: Washer stopping mid-cycle with no error
Remove the 3 screws at the bottom of the front
panel under the washer door. Your filter door will be light brown. If
you find
a hose there it is to drain out excess water (water that could not be
drained
by your pump) After you have drained, unscrew the cap and remove all the
junk
inside. Have a large plastic bag to catch junk and water. Refit
carefully after
cleaning out. If not solved, something shd be blocking your pump, check
this
out. F-21 filter blocked.
How abt a nice rating for the free
help?
SOURCE: Whirlpool Cabrio: During a white load the machine stops at 38 min
lf means long fill check your fill hoses and make sure the water is comeing out. sounds like a problem with your inlet valve and/or your water from your house is not right.
SOURCE: Washing machine displays an LF error code.
LF = Long Fill
LF flashes when the water level does not change for a period of time after the valves are turned on OR water has disengaged
the basket but control does not detect a water level change.
Is water supply connected and turned on?
Are hose screens plugged?
Is water entering the tub? If so check pressure hose connection to machine/motor control.

Thanks for your detailed guidance. Another thing, I left the washer in rinse cycle midway, overnight, as it got stuck, and I was too tired to continue with it. In the morning the clothes had a smell and it smelled around the washer, wet gunky smell. A couple of times, the washer panel lights came on, just randomly, as if on Normal Wash and it started to beep. Please help. Thanks.
SORRY DIDNT THINK OF THIS BEFORE BUT U MAY HAVE A BAD TIMER STICKING IN THE RINSE CYCLE IF U CAN TURN IT OFF OF RINSE MANUALLY THATS UR PROBLEM. HOW EVER THE SMELL LET ME GUESS U USE LIQUID DETERGENT? ITS FAMOUS FOR THE GUNK SMELL AS THE SOAP TENDS TO LEAVE AN OILY BUILD UP AROUND UR TUB THAT EVENTUALLY FLAKES UP AND FALLS OFF NOT ONLY SMELLING BUT STAINING SOME CLOTHES AS WELL.
Thanks again, yes,I do use liquid detergent. Would it be better to use powder or the pods from now on? How do i clean up the build up?
