You dry at 200 degrees. Anything higher will destroy the flavor of the herb. Usually it takes 4 to 6 hours or until the leaves are dry. Then put them in a blender to chop them up to a fine consistency. I sun dry my basil instead of oven drying. I have a dehydrator , but it takes 24 or more hours to dry them so I don't use it much.

I have a turn knob that seems to be getting a little sticky on microwave. the knob is used to set the amount of time I want. How do I fix?

Turn off the microwave and use some electrical contact cleaner. Let it dry out till smell clears. If unsure leave it to dry for 30 mins then try. You can get contact cleaner from hardware stores.

Paint peeling inside microwave

After removing any chips, the area will have to be sanded smooth and cleaned and dried thoroughly.

If the cavity metal of the oven is cracked or split, you can use a small amount of steel-based epoxy such as JB-WELD to patch the crack or hole.

Once that dries thoroughly, you can sand it very smooth.

Then you can apply some high-temperature appliance paint, available from places like Wal-Mart, Lowe's or Builder's Square.

I would suggest you let it dry overnight with the door open before using the oven.

My radiators are getting warm when my heatings not on. Any ideas??

You can check your microwave for possible LEAKS and make sure there are no FOOD particles blocking the oven's fan system To check for leaks, place a DAMP paper towel around the door seals and place a glass cup of water in the microwave. If there are leaks of microwave energy you will find DRY or WARM areas on the paper towel. BE CAREFUL not to peer or watch the test, done on level HIGH for 1 minute. Microwaves may cook the vitreous humor (liquid in eyeball,) just like it would an egg. If the towel is dry or hot ANYWHERE after the test, TOSS the microwave. Your safety is not calculated by the cost of a new oven.Let me know how this goes; I have tested many older ovens and have found quite a few leaky ones.

The Cook Time I use to work, not it wants a code and if I put in a number it will start. But I can't set a cook time or power level. The Cook Time II works ok, except I can't use the number 1; defrost...

Is it possible that some cleaner got into the controls? That'll kill them quickly.

Hopefully it will dry out on its own. I'd unplug it overnight.

If not, then either there is moisture on the control board (which can be dried or allowed to dry) or in the layers of the membrane keypad.

But the membrane keypad may not be available any longer. It is part number WB27X287 and if it still available, it may take a week or so to get it, it will probably be about $150-180, and you can try to order it from the Pros here, the Sears Parts Direct Web site image-4235112-10659157 or from Encompass here.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

We do board repair, so let us know via our site if we can help further.

I have dried on grease stains on the bottom of my pots and also there is a whitish colored film that remains after the pots are washed and dried. I need to know how to clean them.

Spray Oven Cleaner all over stains, SEAL inside plastic garbage bag, leave bag for 2 days, wash pans with scrubber pad, stains should be soft and come off with a little rubbing.

PEELING PAINT INSIDE MICROWAVE/TOASTER OVEN

I do have the same problem, but I know they make microwave paint if you can get it from an appliance store or you can order through the web - BUT 2 sites I just looked at said a gloss enamel paint, such as that used to paint "model" toys works just as well. In either case: Smooth the old stuff off, sand lightly (you want no metal dust left -or- damaging any coating on the metal) just sand enough to make sure there's no flakes & it's smooth, then use a gloss enamel paint rather it's approved for microwaves or the Testor's kind.
NEXT -Make sure you DRY with Hairdryer to set the paint, and keep the heat to med or low, don't bubble or scorch your work!) and do not use the microwave for 24 hours!! Leave the door open while drying for several days afterwards if you can. Any fume smells can be absorbed by using -used- coffee grounds and leaving overnight. Google groups was one source the other was a repair listing forum.
