Need windows xp home edition to repair operating system

It means that your computer is missing a file that windows xp needs to run boot properly or is missing a program that your home edition xp needs. Repairing the OS or windows xp home edition by means of your xp instalation cd will do the job. Just insert your xp installation disk to your cd/dvd rom and select install windows xp home edition. I would suggest trying a friend or 2 to see if you can borrow theirs. Why do you need to repair XP? What is the problem exactly?

Most newer systems have a recovery partition on the hard drive. See your user guide find out how to recover your system. Most likely you will lose everything because the recovery partition option puts the system back to exactly like the day you bought it.

Hope you have backups of your files if you have to do this...

Usually you can call Dell or HP or whomever sold you the computer and request replacements. These are usually free or available for a small fee.

Windows Vista SP1
There are currently no known issues with Service Pack 1 for Windows Vista based on our initial limited testing and customer feedback. Get it from Microsoft, they have lot's of it.

the cd is corrupted. you will require a new cd
