When a Nikon camera says Err, something is wrong with the memory card. Perhaps it is not inserted correct. Or not a card inside at all. Perhaps you can't write to the card or it should be formatted.
When you have a Err, the camera won't do a thing, to avoid the user can think he is shooting pictures and the camera won't save one.
It is due to some kind of electrical (contact) failure. For more
details and common causes of Err 99 read the following article: http://www.lensrentals.com/news/2008.12.31/canon-err99
Have a 2005 Freelander and the battery died. When I re-charged the battery, the CD changer had a CD ERR 1 message. Could not eject or load a CD and the radio worked. I turned off the radio and pulled off the cover on top of the CD changer. I removed the two screws that hold the frame around the CD changer. I turned the CD back on and the CD went through a test on each CD. I know this solution might not work for everyone, but it worked for me
Download that. It contains a firmware update that is meant to fix the "file sys err" problem. I got it directly from the Coby website and it works perfectly.
Today I was taking photos and the camera quit...the top display says err. The book says release shutter, but I push the shutter and it does nothing but make a little click and the err stays. I took the lens off, and the camera does look like the shutter is open or something.
