How do I fix the VCR player in my 2000 Nissan Quest? It plays but gives no picture, sound works though... distorted! UPDATE

I just bought this little mini van and noticed it had a VCR in the console between the driver and passenger seat. The TV is directly above the VCR in the console. When I put in a tape everything works, except all I get is static. However I do get sound, very distorted sound. It would be cool if i could get it working! UPDATE: If I hold down the rewind, play, and fastforward buttons, the image and sound comes back perfect! So im starting to think that maybe the VCR thinks that its trying to rewind or fastforward or something, but when you have them pressed it cancels them out so it plays normally???

Why does my 2000 Nissan Quest emits humming sound when engine run

Most likely, that is the sound of the FUEL PUMP. If the car is running well, don't worry about it. Try changing your fuel filter to see if that helps (usually does).
If you have trouble with fuel delivery at high speeds or under load, suspect that your fuel pump is about to fail.

How do I get the MP3 player to work in a 2007 Nissan Quest?

you said CAN , i bet you meant CAN'T or CAN NOT. right?
the AUX port is just a line input, analog audio input,
it dont know MP3 .
it only amplies the analog audio found there.
you connect any device, to AUX. push play on the device.
then put car radio in to AUX input mode and play. the audio.
that is all there is to it.
the external device does all the heavy lifting, reading a file, and decoding it (mp3 decode) and then sends raw analog audio out.

the cable is sold and radioshack, or walfart or many other stores,
Target, most MP3 players, come with this cable,
they use mini phone plugs, stereo, type,. (3 contacts)

Hi... We just bought a used 2004 nissan quest, the radio was working fine then all of a sudden one day it stopped working. Anyway to fix it??? Thank you

Hello,
I just bought a 04 quest, and my radio would go out also. If you tap the console from the side, or you go over railroad track and it comes in and out, then there is a penny or some kind of change in the CD player. It also shorted out my DVD system. I went to the GV Electronics to have the dealership replace the DVD/TV, and they found a penny shorting out the Disc Player. (the previous owners kid must have put a penny in the CD hole.)

2000 quest speedometer not working

Most common is the speedometer, for you speedometer issue. As for your radio display. If the radio works but has no display, then it's a radio problem not a fuse.

Thanks Jay!

Play my mp3 in 2006 Nissan Quest?

I was told the in dash radio unit will not play mp3's. as far as the dvd player, if you have the entertainment system i can't say. I do have two solutions for you.
1) the in dash cd player (mine is a 6 disc cd player) will not play mp3's at 128 bit compression, but for some reason or another I burnt an mp3 disc using the 256 bit compression, still smaller than the standard mp3 comparable cd quality, and unknowingly tried it in the cd player. The nissan quest played it. So it sounds as if the cd player is picky about how low quality of an mp3. 128 is a common reasonable quality. However, I was able to squeeze about 15 tracks on a 256 bit mp3 disc.
2) the in car dvd unit. If your unit is of the standard type, under the seat or mounted elswhere in the car, you could replace it. Dvd players sell for around $125.00+ and will play everything under the sun. reconnecting is not the biggest challenge neither.
& 3) You could purchase an additional hardwired device which allows you to plug in any audio device and play the sound through the Nissans sound system. The device into plugs directly into your wiring loom behind your factory radio. The best part is that the nissan system is already set up to receive this device. It will play through the sat1 or sat2 buttons. I searched and purchased the device online.
i had installed that before learning of the mp3 deal.
well good luck.
Sincerely, Flash
