If it will still print I have no idea but if not it probably means there is something wrong with your black cartridge - a lot of these printers need both cartridges working before they will even scan

may be you not installed the scanner application software if you have driver disk of printer choose the customs installation and select the scanning option menu and re install it the application.
From Canon tech site.1. Load paper correctly then press Black or Color button (MP150) 2. Press ON/OFF switch to reset the multifunction device 3. Remove Packing Material MP150 / MP170 / MP450 4. Removing obstruction from ASF then press Black or Color button (MP150) 5. Reseat ink cartridge (MP150 / MP170 / MP450) 6. The MP150 may require repair
Our pixma MP150 printer has a flashing E and flashing 5, also flashing on alarm, black ink and color ink. We have replaced the ink cartridges but nothing happens. They were empty. The printer doesnt recognize that the cartridges are there. We have tried unplugging the cords and taking the cartridges out and putting them in again. Also, it wont scan a thing either. ITs likes its frozen in the error. What can we do to fix this?
