The original message of "No detailed maps to support routing" is typically caused by a missing or corrupted map file. It can also be caused by not having the proper map unlock key installed on the unit.
If that problem has been resolved and you can't obtain an address when setting a route, make sure that the map is turned on.
Go to settings, select the map icon and then the map info button. Make sure there is a check mark in the square next to the text that lists the map that you have installed on the unit.
If the map info button is grayed out, then you still have a map issue.
If the square does not have a check mark in it, press the square to place a check mark in the square. This will activate the map.
With this unit, you can put several maps on it and you can select which map will be active or inactive with the check mark.

Hi,
I would suggest you reset the unit,if that doesn't solve the problem, then you will have to update your garmin nuvi, I think its out of date and needs to be updated. Follow the procedures below on how to update your garmin nuvi:
1. Plug one end of the USB cable into your GPS and the other end into your desktop or laptop computer. The GPS device will load the appropriate driver automatically, and a message on your GPS tells you that it is connected to your computer via USB.
2. Open your Internet browser of choice and type in the following web addres: "http://www8.garmin.com/support/collection.jsp?product=999-99999-27 "
3. Download the appropriate version of the software for your computer (Windows or Apple) and Install the WebUpdater by following the wizard (accept defaults).
4. Click "Start," "Programs," "Garmin" and " WebUpdater" to update your firmware and your maps. Periodically check and make sure your software is current.
Also, in case you don't know how to reset your garmin nuvi, you can follow the steps below: There are two types of reset;
Performing a Standard Reset
1. Slide the power switch all the way to the left (with the Nuvi's screen facing you).
2. Hold the switch in the position for at least eight seconds.
3. Push the switch to the right to power the Nuvi back on.
Performing a Factory Reset
1. Turn your Nuvi off by sliding the power switch to the left.
2. Press your finger against the bottom right corner of the touchscreen. Hold your finger in this position.
3. Slide the power switch to the right to turn the Nuvi back on. Continue to hold you finger against the screen until you see the factory reset prompt. Tap "Yes" to perform the factory reset.
Best regards

My problem was cured by reformatting the Mini SD card that holds the map data. I had the same problem this week with my Garmin Nuvi 265. After doing an update I received the "No Data Available" message when trying to use my GPS. After trying three days of so-called fixes I remembered that, at least in my case, the map is stored on a Mini SD card. I pulled the card from my Nuvi and popped it into the computer to see what's on there. There are 4 or 5 files associated with the map. I deleted the files and reformatted the Mini SD card using the FAT32 setting. I reinistalled the card into my GPS. Prior to connecting the GPS to my PC, I uploaded the latest version of Garmin Express. Once that was loaded I reconnected the GPS and had to re-register the unit. Once that was done the software told me that there was a new update. I ran the update. Lo and behold . . . after about 25 minutes the map was successfully loaded to my Nuvi and it was working as it should.
