The bottom oven works fine. The control panel for the top oven is functioning but the oven will not heat up. Neither the bottom element or top element will function.
Had a similar problem. The overheat sensor had failed to the open position and the oven control would light up and you could set the temp, but it would drop to 100 degrees and then go blank.
JKP55 The top oven would not heat. Got it fixed for $261.00 with tax. The bake element in the upper oven was bad. My oven unit is 14 years old.
We have a JKP55 and the top works but not the bottom.
We have had several GE appliances fail -- we are not buying GE again.
Sorry no solution -- we are still looking.
Check with a continuity tester, probably the element is busted or the electrical wirings is cut off

I have the same problem. GE repair wants to charge $89 to come out and look at the unit with no guarantee or refund if they can't fix it. Curious if anyone else has dealt with this issue.
I also have the same problem. Did either of you fix your problem yet and if so what was the sollution.
Top oven will not heat up everything else works. Bought this unit in March 1995. It is a JKP55.

The element at the top of the oven is no longer working making the oven function and grill function redundant.
What should I do?
oven not heating up but elements working
Element has stopped heating how to replace it
I can't get the top & bottom element to go on at the same time. Stove was given to me...
Bottom element not working [4 years old]
Bottom element not working 4 years old
top element in the oven does not heat up completely.
How do I get access to the top oven element?
