How do i wire / connect the control board part # 8205237 for a Whirlpool GH6177XPS Microwave Oven

:::Updated Post::: To further explain my situation, three months ago I unplugged one 3-pronged plug to the Control Board (part # 8205237) of my Whirlpool GH6177XPS-5 microwave, and thinking it would be obvious where it went, I did not note it. But when i revisited it last night, I noticed that there were three receptacles on the board with no connecting plugs. Two of them were the same 3-pronged type (P3 and P27) and one was 2-pronged (P26). However, there were only two loose plug / wires - one 3-pronged and one 2-pronged. So now I can't remember where the 3-pronged plug went (P3 or P27), nor do I know if the 2-pronged plug is meant for receptacle P26 and was accidentally unplugged, or is designed to be left unplugged (I'm thinking not, but want to be sure). My microwave's 1100W inverter is not working, so it's not like I can test the different combinations. :::Original Post::: I recently removed the control board part # 8205237; http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/5136H51gmrL._SL1000_.jpg to my Whirlpool GH6177XPS-5 microwave without correctly noting the wiring connections. I'm specifically looking for help with connections P3, P26 and P27. What wires connect to them? Are any of these supposed to be left without a connection? Has anyone been able to locate a wiring diagram?

Gh6177xps

Your full model number would be either GH6177XPS1, GH6177XPS2, GH6177XPS3, or GH6177XPS4 as found on the model tag. I mention that only if you need to order parts.

There should be a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting, testing, and locating components.

mini_manual_behind_grille_small.jpgdee77f7.jpgAt our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

On the tech sheet for our model, trouble code F7 is discussed:

F7 Power to magnetron interrupted

1. Unplug microwave oven or disconnect power.
2. After 40 seconds, check to see whether this solves the problem.
3. Unplug microwave oven or disconnect power.
4. Check cooling fan operation
5. Check resistance of the magnetron thermostat.
6. Check the magnetron.
7. Check P2, P4 and P27 connections.
8. Check wiring to the 1100W inverters and control system. See "Checking Inverters."
9. Check operation of all interlock switches.
10. Replace inverter, if defective.
11. Replace all parts and panels before operating.
12. Plug in microwave oven or reconnect power.
13. If problem persists, unplug microwave oven or disconnect power.
14. Replace electronic control.
15. Replace all parts and panels before operating.
16. Plug in microwave oven or reconnect power.
17. If problem persists, unplug microwave oven or disconnect power.
18. Check for reversed plug connection on controls or loose wiring.
19. Replace all parts and panels before operating.
20. Plug in microwave oven or reconnect power.

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number from the tag on the oven here.

Error code F7

Hi drk2676,

This error code F7 means that you have a function key stuck on ERC. You can solve this issue by replacing control board (also called ERC or clock). You may contact Sears for the replacement part at 1-800-252-1698; M-F 6:30 AM-10:30 PM - Sat 7:00 AM-9:30 PM - Sun 7:30 AM-9:30 PM - All times Central.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Microwave does not shut off when door is opened.

It may be a bad door switch or mount, or maybe a relay on the control board is sticking.

First, see our safety info here.

Then we have a helpful file on diagnosing and replacing door switches here.

If that's not the issue, we regularly repair control circuit boards for $39.95, or you can order a new one (part number 8205237) for $203.08 here.

F7 ERROR CODE ON GH6177XPS

This is a known problem with this unit, and whirlpool has put out a Service Flash out on this. The reason this is happening is Electrical circuit interruption between the L1 and Neutral in the microwave invert circuit. This has to be addressed by a Tech.

Whirlpool GH6177XPS touchpad

jm...I'm guessing you are not able to see the numbers in the timer portion but that it will accept keyboard commands. This sounds like the main board is going and the drivers are not working or it might just be that the display is bad...generally these are replaced as a unit.
