The eject button on my remote did not work. I accidentally pushed the "pro" button on the bottom left of the remote and the DVD ejected. Crazy, but it works for me!

SOURCE: cant eject a dvd

Contact customer service at this number for help with your problem. service :1-877-467-4289. You can look on your unit and see if they have a pin hole insert for releasing the dvd drawer like on computer dvd's. They may not have this but its worth a look, also check in the owners manual to see if they have a method for releasing stuck dvd's. Hope this helps you with your problem.

SOURCE: Emergency eject for Proscan TV/DVD

It sounds like the whole dvd unit may have failed, I have seen this numerous times on these combo systems... Try turning off the TV, then unplug the power from the power source for at least 5 minutes, then replug it back in. This is usually enough to kick start the dvd player to at least eject one last time. After that you will want to just use an external DVD player with this TV as replacing the internal one is as much as just replacing the TV and an external DVD player is less than $40 shipped here for example:

Thanks, let me know if you have any questions or concerns, just reply to my answer here and I will be right back with you.

I have a Proscan pledv2488a. There is a disk in the DVD player, but I cannot find a way to eject it. There appears to be no eject button on the remote. What can be done?

Do you have the original remote or a universal remote? On the original remote, the Eject button is also the Favorites (FAV) button. It's just below the Volume - section of the Volume toggle on the left side of the remote. The button has an upwards arrow above a line on it. You probably need to set the source to DVD for the Eject button to work properly. (If the source is TV, the button will add or delete the current channel to the Favorites list.) You can cycle through the input source options by pressing the Source button on the TV or the remote. On the TV, the Source button is between the Power and Menu buttons. On the remote, the Source button is on the right hand side above the Up arrow key.

The manual for the PLEDV2488A is available from Proscan at the manufacturer's site: http://www.proscanvideo.com/product/PLEDV2488A . Click on the Downloads tab. The direct link is http://legacy.curtisint.com/html/CustService/Manuals/PRO_PLEDV2488A_EN.pdf . Page 8 describes the remote buttons.

I hope this helps.

Disc will not eject from dvd player

Have you tried both the eject button on the DVD drive and the remote? Is there a disk jammed in the drive? Here is the manual:
http://www.curtisint.com/html/custservice/manuals/PRO_PLEDV1945A_EN.PDF

most of the time there is a small hole near the eject button that you can unbend a paper clip and insert it into that will release the door.

here's a video.. it's a computer, but same principle:

How do you eject the DVD

I you can't do it with the Remote control, you might be able to do it on the TV itself.
I'm not positive about this, but there should be a button on the back outer-edge of the TV that may control the DVD player.

If not, here is a link to Download the manual. Scroll down & click on 'Guides + Info' and then the download link.

Dvd player wont play

I found this on the PROSCAN website under customer support manuals. The website is www.oncorpus.com.I hope this information helps you with your problem. IMPORTANT THE LABEL SIDE OF THE DVD MUST FACE THE BACK SIDE OF THE TELEVISION 1. Press the ‘INPUT’ button to select ‘DVD’ mode, if no disc is inserted yet, the display shows ‘No Disc’.
2.Insert a DVD with the printed side facing towards the rear of the TV/DVD Player (see below)
3.The TV will first display ‘Loading’, then change to ‘DVD-video’. Most DVDs will show some preliminary
information then stop at a main menu screen.
4. Press PLAY/PAUSE to play it directly. Or press the DVD-MENU button to access the disc menu during
playback.
5.Use the direction button on the remote control to select the desired option. Press ENTER to select the
option or press the ► button. Playback will now commence.
6.After playback, press the EJECT button on remote control or EJECT button on TV/DVD to remove the
disc.
Note: No function‘’ will sometimes appear on the screen after a button is pressed. This indicates that the
function is not supported at the current time.
