Yamaha dx7 new battery. Presets re-loaded - a couple work, the rest not. Any ideas?

There could be a few possible causes for this issue with your Yamaha DX7 synthesizer. Here are a few things you can try:
  1. Check the connections: Make sure all connections between the battery, the synth, and any external devices are secure and in good working condition.
  2. Re-initialize the synth: You can try re-initializing the synth by pressing and holding the "Data Entry/Memory" button while turning on the power. This will reset the synth to its default settings and may fix any issues with the presets.
  3. Check the synth's memory: If the synth's memory is full or damaged, this could cause problems with the presets. You can try clearing the memory by pressing and holding the "Data Entry/Memory" button while turning on the power, then selecting the "Erase Memory" option when prompted.
  4. Check the synth's firmware: It's possible that the synth's firmware could be causing issues with the presets. You can try updating the firmware to see if that resolves the problem.

I can't connect a usb device with music on to the clavinova.

You have to format the USB stick using the Yamaha Clavinova. The reason is that the keyboards expects certain file/folder structures on the stick. If you format it on the computer, the computer will not know what files or directories to create for the Clavinova when it formats the stick.

I've bought a SDHC card 32 GB but Handy Recorder H4 do not recognize the card. I've tried to format it at the pc, but no way, the message is "no card"

Verify the device and card reader support SDHC. Try a 2g card and see if that works, typically anything 4g or larger is SDHC, older devices can not read such cards. It is quite possible that the card is bad.

I think I've a failed unit. Turning it on - the USB flashes and then it remains on the logo splash screen. I have tried numerous times to factory resent - holding down the System button on power on,...

It MAY be waiting for an UPDATE of firmware via USB. In other words you may have triggered an update mode that it will not exit without sending an update. The second possibility that comes to mind is that one of the buttons or the switch behind it may be stuck which can lock up the processor. Look for a button stuck in or that feels un-normal.

Our Peavey 32fx is not recognizing the memory stick.  We are trying to record and have put the memory stick into the back of the board.  It lights up, but it says there is no memory stick....

I wasn;t able to get a manual to download, however, a lot of these things MAX out at a 2Gb stick. If you try using larger, I suspect that might be the problem.

Blogs seem to indicate that the sticks are LESS than reliable and one has to remove a lot of effects due to CPU throughput being insufficient.

Make sure your memory stick is less than 2Gb

I have a clavinova CVP 409. If I try to record using an external memory device (external Hard drive or memory stick, a message appears; DISC ERROR. Can you please help me solve the problem or direct me...

I SUSPECT that the CVP 409 will ONLY talk to the Yamaha USB floppy drive, not a hard drive or memory stick.

The internal drivers for these musical instruments do not have the "smarts" to talk to the wide variety of peripherals that PC's are able to.

USB not saving audio. It gives CPU out of memory error.

Don't have too many folders on a flashstick try keeping everything into four folders maximum and I think you'll find it works perfectly.
