can you confirm if it is F5U409?
If so the solution would be to install windows vista drivers. in belkin site it says that windows 32bit are compatible with the adapter.

The F5U409 will not work with 64-bit editions of Windows Vista or Windows 7. Most Windows 7 installs are 64 bit.

I think you may need firmware updates, but drivers should be automatically installed by windows or through the hardware installation wizard if you have internet connectivity. Driver Guide may be ta source for the driver especially when products are no longer supported by the manufacturer.

Ring up the service provider. I have a belkin server and I had the same problem.
You should have a phone number with your server in the box it came in. If not go onto http://en-us-support.belkin.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/508
This should give you a local free number and from there they will give you free support on how to connect.

first connect the devices in this way
from us inter net modem to belkin routers inter net port connect a ether net cable rj45-->then connect another ether net cable rj45 from pc to -->ethernet port on teh belkin router>and reboot the router and modem if u r using cable inter net then immediatly that will work>and open a browser window type this in address bar http://192.168.2.1 u can see the belkin login screen and follow this link
