SOURCE: stalls under load

Try opening up the high speed jet, see if it does any better. Turn it just a quarter turn at a time, if opening it up doesn't do anything, try closing it. If that doesn't do it, try closing it down all the way, then open it up 1 1/2 turns, this will put you into run mode, you can adjust it from there. You have 2 screws on the side of the carb, low, high, they are marked, don't be afraid to turn, that is what they are for. Check it out.

SOURCE: Starts, idles and runs but quits after a few seconds of cutting

Check the air cleaner and muffler for plugging. One screw adjusts the idle stop (idle speed) position and the H and L jet screws set fuel mixture for high speed and idle speed mixture respectively. Turn both jet screws CW to stops (lightly) then back each out CCW 1-1/2 turns. This is a basic setting and should allow the engine to start and run. Start the engine and allow to warm up. Pull the throttle full on and adjust H CW until the engine starts to speed up, but 4-strokes. Correct adjustment is when the engine 4--strokes running free, but immediately 2-strokes when cutting. Release the throttle and adjust L needle CW until the engine idles fairly well, but allows the engine to 'follow the throttle'. Adjust the idle speed screw so that the chain stops turning, but the engine will continue to run. Hope this helps!

SOURCE: chainsaw dies when cutting tree

Sounds like its starving of fuel, start by replacing the fuel filter in the tank, if no better richen up the H screw on the carb by 1/8 turn out and try again.

I have a newer 58v Echo trimmer. Worked fine last season, but when I use it now it runs for a few seconds and then completes shuts down. If I try again, it runs for a few seconds and stops again.

This appears to be a good news problem. There is an easy fix/work around! Consumer reports found the same problem that you have discovered.

Holding down the check battery switch allows the unit to operate. Read the link around the sixth paragraph the story is told.

Echo Trimmer Can Be Tricky to Start

"Our testers discovered the fix by chance. Pressing the check battery button, a last-ditch attempt to get the trimmer working, made all the difference. While this button ordinarily indicates the battery's charge status, in this case it also served to keep the battery from switching into protection mode and cutting off power to the motor. The next time you fully charge the battery, however, the problem can reoccur."

Hope this has helped?

Battery will not take charge, but can jump start and it runs, but does not keep charge

Possible charging coil under the flywheel issue, or with the retifier, there is a tool called a negative shunt, this will quickly tell you if there is any charge to the battary from the engine

I have a husqvarna YTH 2148 and i lose power after 2 or 3 times cutting the grass, when i change the air filter it runs great, already went throgh 5 air filters is there another solution? if i blow the...

It is obviously a carb issue, if the carb needle is leaking this would cause it to run richer than it should, a small amount of dirt on the filter would then richen it even more and cause issues like you have.

Makita G11oo portable generator. starts on choke. cuts off run

Just noticed your question... If you still need a little help:
1. If the gas is from last year, drain the tank and the carb bowl and replace gas with new. Visually inspect the inside of the tank ..be sure there's no sediment that needs to be cleaned out.
2. remove air cleaner and make sure it's not plugged or dirty
3. plug the spark plug and clean with spray carb cleaner.
4. At end of season, mix some gas stablizer in with the fuel to keep it from going bad while in storage.

Let me know how it goes..
