How much grease should I put in the electric motor?

It has a grease nipple on top of it

First, make certain that you are using the recommended type of grease. Using a grease gun, slowly pump grease into the fitting until it begins to ooze out somewhere. Wipe off the (hopefully small amount of) grease that has oozed out, and you're done.

What is the purpose of this nipple on the pump does it need anything attached to it

A nipple usually is a grease or oil point - you pump grease or oil in with a grease/oil gun.

The other use of a nipple is as a bleed point - think of your brakes. There's a bleed point - nipple - that you open whilst pumping the brakes to remove air from the system.

Where are the grease fittings for 1989 Mercedes 560 sel located for ball-joints

they are pre greased, no nipples. When I replace the ball joints, i drill a hole, and put my own grease nipple in. That is the diff. between the long warranted ones, and the economy ones, a lousy grease nipple. you may need replacement

1985 20 hp is stif hard to move left or right

pretty common problem - you need to get some MARINE grease for your grease gun and shoot the pivot grease nipples- some models had a special nipple that needed a gun from the marina- (so you could not put auto grease there)

Move it back and forth as you shoot the grease. I have used a torch to warm up the bits to get the grease to flow.

Also- if the motor is new to you- they have a friction of some sort on them to keep them going straight when you let go- you might want to loosen that befor trying to fix a problem that isn't there.

1984 f-150 front diff is leaking

As this is such a old motor its not worth repairing properly ,what you do is to get a grease gun and remove the end nipple clamp then fill it with lm grease and pump this into the diff unit via the top up plug ,about a tin of grease or one complete grease gun full and this circulate and slow down any leaks by blocking the gaps ,it will not damage the diff

How grease to grease ball joints on a 1998 dodge Dakota sport

You need a grease gun and a tube of grease for your particular vehicle make. You can purchase both at any auto parts store. If you haven't replaced the ball joints since the vehicle was made then you probably wont be able to grease them. Most vehicles come off the line without access. However aftermarket parts have points where you can grease. Take your grease gun and stick the end over the nipple,(sorry can't think of the name for the **** things that you grease into, so Im calling them nipples.) Anyway, pump the gun until grease comes out from the joint and that should do it. Really pretty simple operation provided you have the nipples at the joints already. Hope this helps.

Does hyundai lantra year 2000 have grease nipples

No I havent seen grease nipples on many newer cars lately. I think the manufacturers have done away with them. Dont try using your grease gun on the brake bleeder valves at any of the wheels. I had one car that the owner tried that on; It was a nightmare.

Pontiac Sunfire 2004. Where are (if any) grease zerts to grease by my tire rotations?

Okay, if we're talking about a chev 1/2 ton, you have to grease the ball joints, upper and lower. To get the top one you'll probably have to turn the wheel to the left or right all the way, and you will see it on top of the ball joint. The lower ones will either be under the ball joint or sticking sideways. Other than that you have tie rod ends, and you maybe found them already. There may or may not be grease nipples on your u-joints on the drive shaft. Originals are usually sealed, and replacement have nipples. Good luck. Hope this hepls.

Blown outside cv boot

There is no grease nipple! The cv's are greased during assembly and the boot holds the grease in. When you buy a new boot the grease comes with it in a package.

MERCURY OUTBOARD HAS BEEN SITTING (BY SALT WATER) FOR YEARS. FLYWHEEL IS FROZEN SHIFTER IS FROZEN PRETTY MUCH EVERYTHING IS FROZEN. I REMOVED THE PLUGS AND FILLED WITH PB BLASTER. WHERE DO I NEED TO START?...

hi either that or remove the power head so it is easier to work on you will have to replace the water pump impellor anyway
i have done the following with seized motors and" most" of the time it works
use heat on all the bolts before you try and undo them heat the head of the bolt up then allow to cool then use a socket or ring spanner the heat will travel down the bolt ,transfer into the ally casting expand it and you will get the bolt out without shearing it
pistons /this sounds harsh but the motor is goosed at the moment anyway make shure power head is very sequre /socket or ring on flywheel nut 4/5 ft piece pipe over socket bar heat up engine oil OUTSIDE to almost boiling pour down plug holes until full leave 10 min pour oil out reheat it pour it in again 5 min try the pipe/socket clockwise GENTLY you are using a lot of leverage here just move it back and to a bit /then a bit more /then a bit more until it is free now strip it clean the bores up renew what you have to /put it back together
if that didn't work /i presume all the ancillerey's are off the motor /carbs ,elecrics etc plugs out /put p/head in a bucket full of diesel oil( cheaper than penertrating oil and better) leave it 7 days get ALLthe oil out send wife/partner /g/friend out for the day put the oven on max heat 300 degput motor in oven 2 hours max quick as you can /leather gloves or what ever hot oil in cylinders get a socket on the crank shaft and try it
last try you can only do this if a piston is on or near tdc modify a spark plug to take a grease nipple /cut the thread off /long reach plug and braze a grease nipple in it /put as much grease in the bore as you can screw the modified plug in and use a grease gun to force grease in as the grease will not compress it WILLpush the piston down untill it uncoveres a port /messy but at least it has moved it once you have got some movement eventualy the motor will free off best of luck merlin v12
