CHH50 Dishwasher getting back flow through the rinse tubing and the filling container when machine is switched off

1 Answer

Most dishwashers require a DRAIN VENT between the drain hose and the connection to your drain plumbing. If there is no drain vent, water from your sink drain can easily flow into the dishwasher. If you do not have a drain vent, install one. If you have one, make sure that the vent hole is not obstructed in any way.

SOURCE: have a 8 year old

I imagine your overflow float switch may be jammed, or the flood control sensor isn't working properly. It may even be the controller, there are just many things that can case the same or similar symptoms, but have widely differing causes, one must troubleshoot as per the help websites, or the service manual.
Please find below a Dishwasher troubleshooting how to..
http://www.acmehowto.com/howto/appliance/dishwasher/dishwasher.php

What you need to do, is if you wish to DIY, is obtain a service manual, for your exact make and model. look at the below website to get your service manual.

If you do not wish to DIY, then please call a GE service center and ask for a service call, then ask for a "Quote" for any repair.

My Kenmore washer fills correctly and then agitates. But it won't stop filling to then switch to the rinse cycle.

Your wash machine doesn't know that the tub is full. Open up your console and look for a vinyl tube attached to your water level switch. Take the tube off of the switch and blow into the tube to clear out any blockages. Then, put the tube back on and test the wash machine. If the problem persists, then you need to replace your water level pressure switch AND the vinyl tube (just in case it has a small hole in it somewhere along the way).

You can buy the switch, which comes with the tube, here:

Good luck!

Aeg slimline dishwasher 64800. AL5 alarm, but fills up

This control procedure is in operation only during the cold wash and heating phases.
  • Once the pressure switch has closed in the "full" position, it must remain "full" until the subsequent drain phase; if the pressure switch signals "empty", the fill solenoid is activated for a period equivalent to the period of aperture of the pressure switch.
  • The maximum aperture time for the pressure switch (T) during the entire phase is 60 seconds; if this period is exceeded, an alarm condition is generated.
Alarm: AL5

Possible causes:
  1. Dishes upside down
  2. Central filter clogged
  3. Siphon effect created in drain hose
  4. Leakage in sump - pressure switch tube.

Hobart SR24H dishwasher after rinse cycle the same time pampas water in and out of the dishwasher, two pipes are opened and working

Hello.
As per my personal opinion this is normal because for the final rinse you have a small booster or boiler..
When you turn on the machine..it starts fill and also the booster for the final rinse.
You start the machine..wash cycle...rinse cycle..
Now..new water(from rinse booster) is coming on the tank in order to rinse the dishes..on the same time the machine drains the excces water from the rinse(over flowing) and fills up the booster with new water.
Should be like this

Good luck

The fill sensor tube may have come off or the fill sensor switch is bad.. First check to make sure tube is connected. Not sure what model you have or if it's a top load or front load.

No water entering dishwasher

If there's no water entering your dishwasher, check these:

Water-inlet valve
Float switch
Water-inlet valve
The water-inlet valve lets water enter the machine. If this valve is defective, you need to completely
replace it. It's usually located behind the lower access panel on the left or right side. It's the device
with the main water line (usually copper) from the house, a rubber tube to the dishwasher, and two
wires attached to it.

Float switch
The float switch is a small electrical switch that's located right below the dishwasher "floor."
Above the switch, on the inside of the dishwasher, is a plastic cylinder that floats up as water fills
the dishwasher. If this switch is defective, or if the plastic float gets caught or trapped in the raised
position, the water can't enter the dishwasher. If the float switch is defective, you need to replace it.

How do I descale the saeco magic deluxe coffee machine?

Hi,

Try this:

Standard descaling
Switch off the machine.
Pour a descaling product into the water tank.
Switch the machine on to the programming mode(see below). Place a large container under the steam/hot water dispensing tube and open the steam/hot water knob slowly, turning it counterclockwise.
Turn on the machine by pressing the main switch and let the descaling product flow out of the dispensing tube for approx. 1 min.
Close the knob again.
Turn off the machine with the main switch and let the solution take effect for approx. 5 minutes.
Repeat this procedure two or three times, to allow all of the descaling product in the water tank to flow out of the dispensing tube.
As soon as descaling has been carried out, rinse the tank thoroughly and fill it with fresh water.
Switch on the machine and let fresh water (approx. 2 l) flow out of the steam/hot water dispensing tube in order to rinse away residue.
The machine is now ready for operation.

When the machine is on, the warning light switches off automatically, by pressing the steam selection button for at least 5 seconds.

To enter the programming mode, turn the machine
off with the main switch.
Press steam , espresso coffee and the
main switch at the same time.

Release the buttons.

Hope this will help you.

Maytag washer PAV2300 water over flow

I had the same problem and went out to a website for Maytag washers. That website advised that the problem could be mechanical or electrical. In my case, the problem was a clogged tube and it took only ten or fifteen minutes to fix.
0. Unplug the machine.
1. Open up the front of the washer. Along the left hand side is a long transparent tube. The tube connects to a wallet size container on the side and near the bottom of the tub.
2. Inspect the transparent tube. It may be clogged where the tube meets the wallet sided container.
Note: When the tub is full, it creates pressure in that wallet size compartment which sends air up that tube to a pressure switch located within the panel at the top of the washer. The pressure switch flips and tells the machine - stop filling the tub with water. My machine had a visible clog in the bottom of the tube that carries the air from the bottom of the tub up to the pressure switch.
3. Disconnect the tube and clean. I used a pipecleaner to get most of the mold out. To completely clear the tube, remove the top panel and disconnect the tube from the pressure switch in the top panel and blow air down the tube.
4. Reconnect, test - and you should be good to go. If not, your pressure switch may be dead.
