Dvd player will not eject or play dvd. It just keeps spinning and says "reading." I've tried unplugging for 2 minutes, pushing close/open and stop at the same time(hold for at least 3 seconds)....

Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet and turn the player ON. Attempt to open the disc tray. Depending on the model number of your DVD player, simultaneously press the POWER + STOP + EJECT buttons. If the disc tray still does not open, simultaneously press the DISC1 + STOP + EJECT buttons.6 Jan 2013

My DVD tray on my Yamaha DV C6480 (it holds 5 DVDs) got stuck in the half open half closed position. It may have come off the track. I opened the case and reinstalled the DVD Tray. Now the tray...

This happens to us all the time. Here is the note I keep on how to fix it quickly:
When tray gets messed up, the drive wheel (with pegs that interlock with pegs on the tray) needs to be such that the tray slides in and out freely. Push tray all the way in. Turn on.

Hope that gives a hint.

Fix for DVD Player

Try making DVD player multiregion

region code solution as per

http://www.dvdcodes.net/newCodesAZ/codesD/DigixMedia/DigixMediaHT-1056A.php

Power up the player and open the tray. With the tray open, hit the setup button and then 0000 and then the "Up" button.
On the Setup menu, go to Version and hit enter. Go to region code and change the number to 0 for region free and hit setup again to save.
Or
Power up the player and open the tray.
Press the SETUP button. The setup menu appears.
Press ZERO on the remote control four times - 0000
Press the CHAPTER FORWARD button - the one on the bottom right of the remote control unit that looks like a double arrow with a bar.
A new menu item appears, "Version". There is a REGION option you can select, and this can be set to zero "0" for all regions. Once you see its set to region 0, press SETUP to exit, close the tray and power off. When you power up again, its region free. RCE disks work fine in this unit.
To recap - open the tray, press setup, press 0-0-0-0, press Chapter Forward, select Version, choose 0 for region free, press setup again.
Or
1) Turn on the System
2) Open the tray
3) Press "setup" button
4) Press four times the number "8": 8888
5) Press the "Next Chapter" button (>>|)
6) Appear a menu called "Setup Factory"
7) Select with the cursor movement key "Region All"
8) Press "setup" button to save de changes.

DVD Eject tray stuck

I took a stake knife from the kitchen and pried open the tray door as I hit the eject button this got it to open, I then cycled eject and close, eject close a few times and this did the trick, I even played a DVD and that worked fine also. I had the problem with the tray not opening, and the display would read OPEN when I hit eject and I could hear it trying to open. So I wanted to make sure the tray wasn't just stuck or wedged before I took the system apart and looked for sripped out plastic gears or the belt being broken. GoodLuck [email protected]

Tray is not opening

To open the tray this is not a perfect fix, but it will allow to use it. After the unit is powered on: 1)Hit the "Open/Close" button 2)Wait a while (you will get the timing down with practice) 3)Tap gently, yet briskly with fingertips at area in the attached pic, that the red arrow points to I think the problem is that the tray becomes unbalanced somehow. Because when a DVD is in, the drive opens fine, only when there is no disc do you have to tap on the unit.
